I suppose he wants a trade from the Vikes. I'm all for it!
Depending on what they want, and if his contract doesn't need to be resigned soon. I am fine for it. However, doesn't he have a lot of concussion issues. Sorry, I am selective about keeping up with the NFL. I keep up with the Rams and the huge headlines. Just trying to remember if he has a really bad concussion issue?
Per APN on twitter:
Vikes would be silly to give him up. I'd give up a second or third round pick for his services given his history of injury, which, as RamOG noted, is a lingering threat to his longevity.Quote:
APNewsBreak: Percy Harvin has requested a trade from the #Vikings.
Assuming that the Vikings would entertain a trade, the question becomes what is he worth?
Would I give up a 4th round pick for him if he were willing to play out his current contract? Sure.
Would I give up a 2nd round pick for him and then give him a long-term deal in the range of what Pierre Garcon or Robert Meachem received (or more, as Harvin would probably demand more than they were paid)? No way.
In a word: No!
We already have enough young talented WR's, and many of them are going to be fighting for playing time. At this time, the only type of player that I would be interested in trading for is a legit & proven #1. Not to mention P. Harvin (and I do love the guy) is often injured and struggles yearly with migraines that hamper his play. Again NO!
1st rd pick - No
2nd rd pick - Maybe
3rd rd pick - Yes
All depends on compensation.
Agreed. I mean we have two first rounders next year as it is. I'd easily give up a 3rd.
YES but depending on his contract situation.
Will someone enlighten me on that please.
It's two years left on his contract with 4.7ish remaining.
FYIY Dept.
It is being bandied about by some Vikings fans that Harvin's issues with migraine headaches has been resolved.
He apparently had a condition called sleep apnea which as many know is quite treatable. If this is true then Harvin may not be any more of a health risk than anyone else.
I wonder if this changes a prospective trade partner's thought processes.....something to ponder...
P.S. No, not "Christian" Ponder:D
WHAT SAY YE?

The weird, wild three days of Percy Harvin-induced Minnesota Vikings drama had a happy conclusion Thursday when he attended and fully participated in practice. It sounds like this story will go away for a while.
