    Peyton Hillis?

This is just me throwing out an opinion (no rumor or anything so this may be in the wrong section). What would Rams fans think about getting Hillis? I imagine we can get him for basically a sandwich since he has literally fallen off the planet. Our line has been garbage and our RB's cannot seem to break a single tackle. Now I am not saying he will do any better, but we have seen at one point in his career that he can carry the ball well and break a few tackles as well as run through the whole, which our RB's seem to be afraid to do. Now again I understand this is just an idea but I was curious what people think about this idea?

i'd say it's worth a shot considering how cheap he'd be

heck, MAYBE he could revive his career here best case scenario

    Re: Peyton Hillis?

MMMM dunno about Hillis. He had 1 good year, and has disappered since.
I feel the offensive woes of this team arent soloey personel, rather is combination of the the 2.

    1) Lets face it-- Schottenheimer didnt do anythign in NY. He hasnt shown anything in pre-seaosn here, and in the regular season. Im surprised that Fisher made this hire, yet jettisoned Rob Ryan.

    2) Yes, yes-- Bradford bashing. Ive posted throughout the years that I was never enthralled about his selection. And many here have counted that we need to give him time, give him players, and give him a competant OC.

Now--- IMO he has had 1 competant OC in McDaniels. Whatever happened in here in St Louis hasnt and didnt affect him in Denver and New England. So the argumant that hes worthless doenst hold water.

Sam on the other hand has remained constant. No matter who is surrounding him and who is coaching him, you be assured of certain things

    a. <7 yards per completion
    b. telegraphing where you want the ball to go
    c. a solid 55-58% completion ratio.
    d. no TDs when we get in the red zone.

Its uncanny yes, but after all these years-- he is what he is. Im all for a new QB unless something clicks in him and he can carry this team the rest of the year.

    Re: Peyton Hillis?

Even if Hillis cant gain any yards rushing, at least he can pass pro. We're not getting any yards rushing anyhow. I am sick from watching defensive players just smack the RB into Bradford. Richardson does not know how to pick up the rusher. He is inept and if he's not getting yards rushing and he can't pass pro, then he shouldn't be playing.

Hell, Cunningham got a false start because he move after recognizing the blitz and was a bit eager to block. I'll take that.

And what the hell is with the running. Is 'run, stop, wait, look, look ......uummppph!" an actual play in the book. I saw that about a half dozen times last night.

Peyton Hillis is a one year wonder if I have ever seen one. The guy is in his prime years and he's jobless. That is pretty telling. Honestly if we wanted to go with any FA RB, I would go with Michael Turner.

    Re: Peyton Hillis?

Were there holes for a RB to run through? I missed them if there were.

Expected several threads this morning to appear claiming Richardson was dancing around behind the line instead of hitting the hole.

    Re: Peyton Hillis?

To put Hillis' current state of unemployment into Rams-related context, Hillis couldn't beat out Brian Leonard for a back-up job in Tampa Bay. So I doubt he'd do much to help this current situation.
