Not good if he lands in the Redskins or Dolphins

re: Peyton Released After 14 Seasons

Reports have circulated in recent days that Peyton Manning's rehabilitation from neck surgery is progressing in a positive direction. In fact, four sources with knowledge of Manning's rehab recently told NFL Network's Albert Breer that the Indianapolis Colts quarterback steadily has regained strength in his grip and triceps.

One source told Breer that Manning is throwing the ball "really well," while another said the quarterback "feels good" about where he is in the process.
Now there's visual proof to confirm Manning's returning arm strength, as a 27-second video of the quarterback going through an aggressive throwing session while wearing his Colts helmet, shoulder pads and jersey at Duke University appeared on YouTube late Friday.
A source confirmed to Breer on Saturday that the player in the video is Manning.
In the video, which appears to have been taken from behind a goal post in an end zone, Manning can be seen throwing deep balls and "out" routes to either side of the field.
Manning was accompanied by receivers Brandon Stokley, Austin Collie and tight end Dallas Clark at this week's workouts, which were conducted under the supervision of Duke coach David Cutcliffe, the quarterback's offensive coordinator at the University of Tennessee. Manning had worked out in South Florida before this most recent set of sessions in Durham, N.C.
Manning attended Saturday night's Duke-North Carolina men's basketball game at Cameron Indoor Stadium, sitting next to Cutcliffe in a courtside seat under the basket that the Blue Devils defended during the first half.
Manning is due a $28 million option bonus March 8, and speculation has persisted that the Colts will release the four-time NFL MVP before that date.

I'm stil holding out for the small sliver of hope that he stays with the Colts. Would be best for our bidding war.

re: Peyton Released After 14 Seasons

I still think that the two East and North divisions are ones that Manning will avoid. The Dolphins are in a division controlled by the Pats. If given a choice, I'd not want to fight him twice. The Redskins are in a division with his brother, Vick, and Romo. Not exactly the AFC South. The North divisions are mostly full with QB's, but also are hard-nosed divisions where he may not last the season.

If he can find a spot with the Jags, he could very well love putting the Colts(and Luck) down two games. NFC South is not looking. That leaves us with the West divisions, which are extremely fluid in terms of winning and a top 5 QB could do a lot of damage in either one. Chiefs have tons of money, a fair defense and a bunch of weapons for Manning. They're my favorites right now. Seattle would look pretty good if they can bolster the defense and maybe grab one more outside playmaker for Manning. Arizona did pretty well with an old and busted QB a few years ago.

    Odds:
    KC 4-1
    Seattle 7-1
    Arizona 10-1
    Miami 10-1
    Washington 12-1
    Jax 15-1
    Jets 18-1
    Anywhere else: 25-1
    I believe!

re: Peyton Released After 14 Seasons

The ending that most anticipated between the Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning will arrive on Wednesday, according to league sources, when the team is expected to release the four-time NFL MVP.
    Colts to release Manning

The team has made preliminary plans for the news conference Wednesday to officially announce the move.
The Colts are awaiting the final word from owner Jim Irsay, who has been out of town at meetings, but the expectation is they will go forward with the release and the press conference. Manning and Irsay will both travel from Florida to Indianapolis on Wednesday, possibly together, according to NFL Network's Albert Breer.
The move has been widely expected, as the rebuilding Colts owe Manning, the first overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft, a $28 million bonus if he is on the team's roster at the start of the league year. Manning will become a free agent immediately.
As far back as late January, Manning, 35, said he had no plans to retire after missing the entire 2011 season following four procedures to repair two vertebrae in his neck. His most recent surgery on Sept. 9, a cervical neck fusion procedure, was intended to repair a damaged nerve in Manning's neck that caused weakness in his throwing arm.
Those close to Manning have maintained his desire to continue his career despite concerns that nerves in his arm had not been healing and were prohibiting his throwing. Manning has been throwing since December, and four sources with knowledge of his rehab process recently told Breer that Manning has steadily regained strength in his grip and triceps.
To that end, Manning took part in an aggressive throwing session at Duke University on Friday in which the quarterback was filmed throwing deep balls in a Colts jersey and helmet.

A video posted late Friday on YouTube was confirmed to be Manning throwing to receivers.
Irsay had publicly stated in February that the team would welcome Manning back, but only on a restructured contract that reflected the uncertainty of the quarterback's recovery.
The Colts hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, and Irsay has said the team would draft a quarterback whether or not Manning was healthy.
