Possibility of signing Randy Moss next off season?
Randy Moss doesn't seem to think he has a future in New England and he is in the last year of his contract too. I don't think there are many great options out there this off season.Vincent Jackson is the best receiver that the rams could get but it would ruin the draft in 2011. Assuming Randy doesn't get new contract I think he might be willing to play in St.Louis because they would offer a huge amount of money to him and Having Sam Bradford and Steven Jackson to play with might interest him. Moss would be the final piece in making the offense light defenses again like the GSOT days. This would also allow the rams to draft someone like Adrian Clayborn in the first. Then draft a WR in the 2nd round to be the future #1. Some of those top WR's stock might fall by then as well.
Re: Possibility of signing Randy Moss next off season?
Moss is 33 years old (turns 34 in February), at this point in his career he's playing for the ring. He should have much more attractive suitors now that he has proven he can be a team player. The draft is still the way to go to get this team's future #1 unless this team has a really good season and drafts outside the Top 20.
Re: Possibility of signing Randy Moss next off season?
Have we so quickly forgotten Randy Raider who goes through the motions when he's not highly motivated? Moss is well past his prime and won't be a legit no. 1 receiver for much longer. He's only a team player when he has a good quarterback and an offensive line that provides enough time for him to get open and for the quarterback to find him. If he were on the waiver wire right now, I wouldn't be interested unless I really thought he was the only missing piece for a deep run into the playoffs.

Bingo, this about sums up my thoughts.

I agree but I hope no one here is silly enough to believe we will ever win more than 4 or 5 games building only through the draft

Moss has 2 more seasons in his career. He'll go to a team that could compete for the Superbowl, not the Rams. James Jones is in his contract year in Green Bay - watch him.
