Re: Proof why I don't get excited about the draft
Mike Martz and company have the greatest percentage of 1st round busts (all but Steven Jackson) in NFL history. I didn't do any research, but I'll bet I'm not far off.

Re: Proof why I don't get excited about the draft
Well, let's just not go with Martz (even though it wasn't real pretty either). How about Brooks - Lawrence Phillips and Eddie Kennison? Pickett was a good selection and I have no idea why the Rams didn't sign him back on. Trung Candidate? Bad one. 2000-2004 altogether though not very good there ninerhater I have to agree.

Re: Proof why I don't get excited about the draft
I agree with Tex about some having some horrible draft picks in the past. We still have to hope for 1 good draft we are definently due and we have a new regime.
Here are my thoughts on our past picks that many of us thought would be good contributors to this team that have been a bust or have not made an impact on the team yet.
I remember some of us thinking he could be the next starting Center and he never really saw the field much.2007
Rnd Name College Note
5 Dustin Fry Clemson
I remember some of us thinking we would find a good starting TE between Klopfenstein and Byrd. Hill has not so far lived up to being a good starter. Wroten has been in trouble and not performed on the field. We thought we might have three future starters out of that bunch. Both Byrd and Wroten were considered good value picks by analysts at their spot. Even though many of us were not crazy about going with two TE's in the draft.2006
Rnd Name College Note
1 Tye Hill Clemson
2 Joe Klopfenstein Colorado
3 Claude Wroten Louisiana State
3 Dominique Byrd USC
Showed flashes and teased us with his talent. Looked like he could become a very good guard. Mentally lost it and became a big wimp.2005
Rnd Name College Note
4 Claude Terrell New Mexico
I was never very high on him but I remember many Ram fans wanting to stick with him as a starter and thought he might become a good one. I thought the guy was a hot dog and did a dance after the simplest tackles. The guy lost it mentally and proved to be a bum.2004
Rnd Name College Note
3 Tony Hargrove Georgia Tech
Truly horrible player. Enough said.2003
Rnd Name College Note
1 Jimmy Kennedy Penn State
Not a very good LB IMO he was on the small side as well. Below average and we used him at MLB.2002
Rnd Name College Note
1 Robert Thomas UCLA
The nut cracker was expected to be good starting UT that could apply pressure on the QB. He did nothing during his time with the Rams.2001
Rnd Name College Note
1 Damione Lewis Miami (FL)
Candidate was expected to take over for Faulk and he turned out to be a big bust. Shepherd was expected to be a good CB and never saw the field much. St. Clair was tried many times as a starter and continued to disapoint2000
Rnd Name College Note
1 Trung Canidate Arizona
2 Jacoby Shepherd Oklahoma State
3 John St. Clair Virginia

Re: Proof why I don't get excited about the draft
The Best Rams draft was in 2001 and 2005. NT Pickett, DT Lewis, SS Archaleta and CB Butler.
If the Rams FO could at least paid Pickett his just due. The Rams wouldn't had to waste a pick on Kennedy trying to fix there mistake by getting rid of Him.
Alot of those players played a long time and some are still playing.
1Alex Barron Florida State
2 Ronald Bartell Howard
3 Oshiomogho Atogwe Stanford
3 Richie Incognito Nebraska
4 Jerome Carter Florida State
4 Claude Terrell New Mexico
5 Jerome Collins Notre Dame
6 Dante Ridgeway Ball State
6 Reggie Hodges Ball State
7 Ryan Fitzpatrick Harvard
7 Madison Hedgecock North Carolina
The 1st four players in this draft sure turned out great for Rams. Another big loss with Hedgecock.Last edited by Shan the Ram Man; -04-12-2009 at 02:42 AM.
