Question for you DRAFTNIKS?
I know there has been alot of speculation on what the RAMS are going to do with their 1st round #2 pick. OT, WR, MLB....etc
My question is this:
As far as the CENTER position goes where in the draft is that position generally picked?
Also who and at what pick was the highest center ever drafted?
I'm not suggesting that we use our 1st pick in the draft on a center. However the center position is on top of my priority list. I would love to see the RAMS draft Alex Mack but will he be available to us if we don't take him in the 1st round?
Of course all of this is dependent on what we do in Free Agency. Or maybe COGS could fill the position?

Re: Question for you DRAFTNIKS?
Centers are rarely taken in the first round. The last one I can recall off the top of my head was Chris Spencer, who was taken with the 26th pick in the first round by the Seahawks in 2005.
Typically, the "best" center in the draft is taken in the second round, and usually there are good options in the third round or later.
This draft has a decent crop with two players who should go in the later-first/early-second round (Mack, Unger) and others who will likely go no later than the third round (Wood, Caldwell, Luigs).
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Question for you DRAFTNIKS?
Yes I am a big advocate of Mack/Unger being our second round pick.
They may both be available when we pick in the cecond round, pending on the steeler pick. I also would bet that they are both gone by our third round pick. please, please, please, let Mack be available to us.
He is an immediate starter and could anchor our line for the next 10 years!!!

Re: Question for you DRAFTNIKS?
IF Kenny Britt isn't there for our 2nd round pick
I say we def go Center, SS, or DT.
We have to address LB in free agency.
No one will be legit starter in the MLB positon in round 2.
Plus there are more LB's in Free AGency this year than usual
Go Rams

Re: Question for you DRAFTNIKS?
I would only use our 2nd round pick on a center if it is Alex Mack...I don't believe Unger is good enough for us to use that high of a pick on him. Instead we should take a safety like Moore or Chung if Mack isn't avaliable, and then grab Caldwell or Luigs in the 3rd

Panthers drafted ryan kalil in 1st in 06 or 07. I think that was the last center drafted in first round.

Nick Mangold was the Jets second, first round pick a few years ago. They traded back into the first round to get him.
