    Re: Rammy Watkins?

I'd want him but only if we trade down. People seem to think that the Rams need a big, physical receiver, but I think what the rams need is someone who could get open and make plays with the ball in their hands. Scout's say that Sammy is a more polished, quicker version of Cordarelle Patterson, and he played pretty well last year for the Vikings. The difference of course is that Minny drafted him at 29, not with the 2nd pick.

I'm not opposed to it, I'd feel better about the Rams taking him if they moved down into the 6-10 range. I don't think I could justify staying @ 2 and taking him above some of the other likely available prospects.

    Re: Rammy Watkins?

He's the No. 3 player on my current board (behind Matthews and Robinson), so that, of course, means that he would not be my first choice for pick #2.

If the Rams trade down a few spots, as Nick said, I think he'd be a very good option.

    Re: Rammy Watkins?

Sammy Watkins is the type of guy I would only draft if he was BPA when our selection comes

At the moment I voted "no" but i would say yes if the situation nick presented were to happen where we are drafting in the late top 10

    Re: Rammy Watkins?

if thats the #1WR they take Im all in.
Yes-- he doesnt have the height that a few others do.
Im not sure what his real 40 will be-- we find out soon; but the 3"-4" he gives up it looks like he makes up for with

    the desire to compete
the desire and pride to actually play well
    and sheer tenacity.

Im also thinking this guy is the 20+rep 225 guy too.

Our GSoT didnt have basketball players at WR-- and even in todays game that crew would still mess up defenses.

And lastly, many analysts feel that to beat the 'new wave' secondaries that Seattle touts, you need fast and quick blazers.

Have you all seen the 40 times for Seattles DBs? Sherman is high 4.5s/4.6 to give us all an example.

perhaps-- but let's see how the combine works out for Matthews and Lewan. Robinson isnt a player I have strong feelings about, primarily due to pass blocking concerns.

I can envision a draft where we take WR at 2 and the BPA for OL at 13.

The inherent difficulty with taking OL at 2, will be that at 13... will Watkins or Evans be there? When the Rams pick again in RD2, with a pass happy NFL-- will

Benjamin, the 'other' Matthews (will they mimic the WV tandem and have 2 WR teamates on the same team?-- lol WTH lots of top players with the same last name?), or the Penn St Robinson be there?

Rutgers' Coleman could be a sleeper, and Fisher went the once for this which sort of worked out.
But would the Rams be happy with Coleman when we could have had

    Evans?
    Watkins?
and still get a great OT to boot?

All I can say is this-- the Rams WR time is due. They have gone the route of Detroit with all the misses.
Its time that they strike blue and gold on a real #1WR (lets not mention Tavon-- as he isnt a #1WR)

    Re: Rammy Watkins?

Since the poll doesn't say when... just if.... I voted yes.

If Rams snag a WR in round 1, I like both Watkins and Marquise Lee.
