Rams 2012 NFL mock draft with a twist.
Well, here we go!
My 2012 NFL mock draft with no trades.
Round 1: Justin Blackmom WR 6’-1” 207 LBS 4.48 forty Oklahoma State
Round 2a) Jerel Worthy DT 6’-2” 308 LBS 5.08 forty Michigan State
Round 2b) Keleche Osemele OT/G 6’-6” 333 LBS 5.36 forty Iowa State
Round 3: Robert Turbin RB 5’-10” 222 LBS 4.50 forty Utah State
Round 4: Taylor Thompson TE 6’-6” 266 LBS 4.58 forty S.M.U.
Round 5: Traded for Branden Loyd
Round 6: Donnie Fletcher CB 6’-0” 201 LBS 4.53 forty Boston College
Round 7(a) Danny Trevathon OLB 6’-0” 237 LBS 4.75 forty Kentucky
Round 7(b) Andrew Sweat OLB 6’-1” 232 LBS 4.74 forty Ohio State
I think there is going to be two options to trade down from the sixth pick.
First K.C. gives picks #11, 2nd and 5th to move up to the 6th pick.
Secondly, If Claiborne is still on the board at six? The Dallas Cowboys give picks #14, 2nd and 4th to move up to the 6th pick to take Claiborne.
My 2012 NFL mock draft with a trade to the K.C. Chiefs. Rams might like Brockers better than Cox.
Round 1: Fletcher Cox DT 6’4” 298 LBS 4.79 forty Mississippi State
Round 2: (33)Rueben Randle WR 6’3” 210 LBS 4.55 forty L.S.U.
2: (39)David Wilson RB 5’10” 206 LBS 4.49 forty Virginia Tech.

Round 7(b) Andrew Sweat OLB 6’-1” 232 LBS 4.74 forty Ohio State
My 2012 NFL mock draft with a trade to the Dallas Cowboys.
I don’t think Fletcher Cox will be there #14. Rams might like Brockers better than Cox.
Round 1: Michaels Brockers DT 6’-5” 322 LBS 5.36 forty L.S.U.

Re: Rams 2012 NFL mock draft with a twist.
I like them, Shan. I think we could get a little more in the way of picks, but having said that, I love what you did with the picks.
Only thing though...... Baptiste doesn't make it out of the 4th."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Rams 2012 NFL mock draft with a twist.
Nobody really knows what the trade value is now that there is a rookie salary cap. If Rams charge K.C. to much, K.C. will trade with the Jags. Rumers are Philly wants Tannahill also but the drop is to much unless they add alot more picks.
It was a guess where Baptiste lands. "Draftek" in the sixth round, "Walters" in 4th, "CBSsports" 7th, "Draft insider" a free agent and Scott Wrights Draft countdown doesn't even have him in top 35.
If Rams trade out of the sixth spot. I like Randle and Wilson alot myself.

Re: Rams 2012 NFL mock draft with a twist.
I'm a Randle fan, so if the Rams don't land Blackmon at the top of round one, I like any mock that features him as a selection for the team in the second round.
Positionally, I think you've nailed it from this perspective - if the Rams do somehow move down again, I think one of the DTs would be a prime target as their value starts to make more sense in the 10-20 range.

Re: Rams 2012 NFL mock draft with a twist.
Well, there have been a few trades now under the new rookie cap, so there is an idea of trade value. Look, we just disagree on how much you could have gotten for that pick. No big deal. My point is that I really like what you did with the picks you did get. Solid draft.Nobody really knows what the trade value is now that there is a rookie salary cap. If Rams charge K.C. to much, K.C. will trade with the Jags. Rumers are Philly wants Tannahill also but the drop is to much unless they add alot more picks.
As for Baptiste.....it would not surprise me if a few years from now he is considered the best NT in this draft."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Rams 2012 NFL mock draft with a twist.
I'm just hoping Blackmon in still there in first draft. I don't think he will be. I know Browns have bigger need at RB but will take Blackmon.
More picks the better but I don't want all the picks this year anyway. I think your right about Baptiste being a good NT. How do think he'll do in a 4-3 defence.
Thats Hoping Blackmon is still there at six.

Re: Rams 2012 NFL mock draft with a twist.
I think he could. He did at Baylor. I think he's more consistent than Poe or Ta-amu either one. He may not as talented as either, but I think he's less up and down. And when you're the size of 3 backstreet boys, I'd say consistency is a pretty rare thing to find.More picks the better but I don't want all the picks this year anyway. Re: Rams 2012 NFL mock draft with a twist.
If i was a betting man, i hear you loud and clear that its most likely that if we trade back its to take one of the defensive tackles. That said, i want decastro if we trade back! I have no problems with the best defensive tackle (ie the one that coach fisher wants the most), but i just love the idea of decastro and i havent heard a single pundit say a single bad word about the guy, not even Nick or Av. The best weapon we can have on offense is a strong offensive line. Lots of teams have been winners without stud wide receivers. Very very few have been successful without excellent offensive lines, which is made all the more important in our case because we have an excellent young qb and a superstar rb.

Re: Rams 2012 NFL mock draft with a twist.
I know DeCastro is good, possibly the best to come out since Hutchenson. I think its harder to find a great DT than a G.
I just see it easier to find a good "G" later in the draft. If a athletic OT doesn't make it at "T" he could be moved to "G". Everybody says move Smith to gaurd.
If a DT doesn't make it he is done.

Re: Rams 2012 NFL mock draft with a twist.
For some strange feeling if CB Claiborne is there at six. I think Cowboys trade up to the Rams sixth pick. I don't know what it would cost Dallas but they need to fix secondary. Maybe second this year and second or third (Conditionally)in next years draft.

Re: Rams 2012 NFL mock draft with a twist.
I wish I had a crystal ball that gave all the answers.. I'm still hoping to get the O-line fixed. OT/G Glenn would solve alot of problems. Start him out at left gaurd or have him fight it out to see who the best tackle is.
There is alot of WR's still left. But I like Randle
