What a way to start the day! That is an amazing trade! We have so many holes to fill. This will give the front office a great opportunity to make the changes that need to be done over the next few years. As was mentioned above, the fact that we only have to move down four spots to gain such a bounty is incredible. Couple that with the liklihood of Blackmon, Claiborne or Richardson still being there and we are still in a great position. Trading down again also has some merit to garner more picks to work with. What more could you ask for! I'm really glad we got this done before the start of free agency. That might have really drug out the process. Great job by the front office! One word...STOKED!!!

" According to Rams team sources, Cleveland Browns were willing to trade both their first-round picks this year to move up to No. 2 overall "

    - Jim Thomas

Looks like Fisher wanted more leverage for future years, good decision.

Right - smart decision. Why take two #1's when you could take THREE?!?

In all, a fantastic trade for our rams. We're going to get no worse than the fourth player on our board.

If we could somehow jag Blackmon, this would be an out-of-this-world trade.

We all know that the Rams leading suitors for the #2 overall pick were Cleveland and Washington. If not for a Week 10 victory against the Browns, the Rams would be picking 1st which means they could've netted in excess of three 1st rounders for Andrew Luck. But the Rams also wouldn't be picking second if not for the Redskins losing to the Vikings in Week 16. So, the Browns could've potentially had a chance at Luck had they lost to us, but their win essentially cost them when the Redskins lost to the Vikings, gained a higher draft position, and proceeded to out bid them in a trade to move up. Now I'm left wondering what could have been had we picked 1st, but a great haul nonetheless.

RG3? Forget that. He's now known as RG31sts.
You seem to have gotten confused half way through your post about who won out of the Rams and Browns last season

You have to have a long term approach here. Having two first round picks would be great, but having three of the top 40 picks AND having 2 first round selections in 2013 and 2014 is HUGE.

This is particularly true given the new rookie scales. The extra cost of building through FA rather than the draft is elevated under the new system, so its great to stockpile these picks.

Rams trade with Washington is official. Rams get picks 6, 39 this year and Redskins 1st rounders in 2013, 2014 for No. 2 pick this year.
