Rams among teams who have scheduled private workout with QB Carr

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah reports QB Derek Carr has five team workouts scheduled.

Those five teams include the Titans, Browns, Raiders, Vikings and the Rams. The last team listed is an interesting one, along with the Browns, since both teams have tow first-round picks in may's draft. Jeremiah believes four quarterbacks will be selected in the first-round, with Carr being one of them.
Well that's interesting - four QB needy teams and then the Rams.

If Carr were to fall to pick #44, I could see the Rams considering him. He would not be my choice, but I would understand the logic.

Re: Rams among teams who have scheduled private workout with QB Carr

Av, I think that it's a very interesting strategy, and one we could even pull off earlier than #44 depending on trades. Carr has an NFL lineage(his brother was good enough to be #1 overal before succumbing to Carr/Bulger syndrome) and for the Rams would look to study under Shaun Hill and Sam for a year before we look to either hold onto him as a high end backup at cheap prices, or cut ties with Bradford entirely and have a cheap starting QB for a few years.

Under the assumption that we plan to hold onto Bradford for the long term, the worst Carr represents a bargaining chip to keep his price tag down. At best, he's an alternative that lets us moveon from Bradford. If we end up trading just ahead of the Browns(whom I think are targeting Carr with their 2nd pick as opposed to one of the top three), Carr could very well be in play.
    I believe!
