Rams depict interest in Tebow as minimal
BY JIM THOMAS
Thursday, March 22, 2012
The Rams did make an inquiry to Denver on quarterback Tim Tebow but never made a trade offer. Tebow eventually was traded to the New York Jets on Wednesday night.
Team sources were adamant on the topic before the trade to the Jets became finalized, telling the Post-Dispatch, "Way too much has been made" of the Rams' purported interest in Tebow. The Rams were poking around mainly to get a read on which teams were seriously interested in trading for Tebow, according to the sources.
The idea was that those teams might be willing to move or release their backup quarterback if they landed Tebow. The only quarterback under contract with the Rams is Sam Bradford, so the Rams are looking for a backup.
By the way, Tebow and the New York Jets visit the Rams in the Edward Jones Dome this coming season.
Meanwhile, on the free agent front, linebacker Chris Chamberlain is scheduled to pay a visit to New Orleans today and tomorrow. Chamberlain started 13 games for the Rams last season at outside linebacker, finishing fourth on the team in tackles (84) while also recording two sacks, one interception and one forced fumble. The Rams have made Chamberlain a contract offer.

Pretty much what I assumed. ESPN just made a big deal about it because they needed hits

You know, when Mike Lombardi's report came out, someone should have expressed doubt about its accuracy...
Wait a second....

I thought Clemmons did a pretty good job last year for us. Are they even talking to him?

Re: Rams depict interest in Tebow as minimal
Jets QB Drew Stanton is reportedly hoping that the team will release him after Tim Tebow's acquisition.
Stanton didn't draw any known interest from teams other than the Jets before signing a one-year, $1.25 million deal on March 16. Plenty of teams would be interested in an athletic second- or third-stringer, though. Reentering the free agent market would allow Stanton to have a say on his new club.
Ok then go get the back up...
