    Rams Draft

    Rams Draft Idea

-Trade 1[13] and CB Jemetrius Butler to Green Bay for 1[16] and 3[79].

-Trade 2[52] and 3[82] to Cleveland for 2[36].

    1[16] S Reggie Nelson* [Florida]

The Rams have adequete safeties right now, but neither Otogwe or Chavous are impact players. The need for an impact player at S has become more and more aparent with the likes of Ed Reed and Bob Sanders. Nelson would help against the pass when the Rams are up in games and would help against the run early on.

2[36] NT Tank Tyler [NC State]

The Rams have a desperate need for a DT that can play against the run. They are currently involved in the Kris Jenkins trade talks, but who knows what will go on with him. Tyler has some character concerns that he adresses in another post, but he also has great explosion at 320lbs. and can play the run very well.

    3[79] DE Quentin Moses [Georgia]

Moses is falling because of a bad senior season and poor workout. Despite all of this he still has elite talents and the ability to get to the QB. If a coach can get his head right he could become a dominant pass rusher and someone who can help Leonard Little out.

4[117] OG Mansfield Wrotto [Georgia Tech]

A very raw OT/OG project that played mostly at DT during his college career similar to the Chargers Chris Dielman. Wrotto has top notch athletic ability and size at 6'3" 320lbs. and can provide depth while honing his craft.

    5. LB Prescott Burgess [Michigan]

Burgess has the size [6'3" 245lbs] to plat on SLB and was a safety at the beginning of his college career so you know he has the cover ability.

    6. RB/KR Alonzo Coleman [Hampton]

Coleman is a quicker RB that has returned kicks. He will add depth and shiftyness behind Steven Jackson and should compete in the kick return game.

    7. DT Keith Jackson [Arkansas]

Not the biggest DT in the draft at 6' 310lbs but he has great ability against the run and is worth a developmental pick.

    7. WR Syndric Steptoe [Arizona]

    A small slashing WR/KR.

    7. OT Chase Johnson [Wyoming]

Johnson has great size [6'8" 326lbs.] but not great strength as he only benched 13 reps at his pro day. His size is worth a developmental pick and a PR spot.

That's actually not that bad of an idea.

The #4 pick is a waste IMO; a OT/OG that played DT? That's a supplemental pick at best. I like the other picks though.

Ya' know Country, of all of the mocks of yours that I've read, this one appeals to me the most. I'd be pretty happy scoring Nelson and Tyler and Moses on the first day for our D. Gosh this actually could happen!!

You consistently over-estimate the trade value of Butler. No way we get a third round draft pick for the guy, even if we move down in the draft.

To move down from 13 to 16 would cost about a 3rd round pick, and I have heard that the Packers and Titans are jockying to move up and grab Marshawn Lynch if he passes the Bills.

Then why bother with trading Butler at all? Plus, the value chart isn't what matters on draft day. Its just a general guide.
