NFL Draft News: Rams Eying McFadden?

According the NFL network's Adam Schefter, the St. Louis Rams have Arkansas running back rated highest on their draft board.

Is this the truth or a smokescreen? Sounds like smoke to me.

Although pairing McFadden with Steven Jackson will make the most formidable running back combo in the league the Rams have too many other needs.

The Rams could be leaking this story in order to force teams that were hoping for McFadden to fall to trade up with them.

Coincidently, Schefter is also reporting that the Saints have talked to the Rams about trading up for defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey, not McFadden.

Malcolm Kelly ran another 4.6 at his private workout Wednesday.

Rotoworld.com reports the Panthers are interested in QB Matt Ryan if he falls to them at No. 13 in the draft.

ESPN is reporting there are "major rumblings" that the Raiders want McFadden with the fourth pick in the draft.

Hahha. this is funny. McFadden is already asking for more money than Steven Jackson is asking for, and McFadden hasn't played a second in the NFL.

This is just smoke or bad reporting. Either way, its funny.

I presume it's the truth, but as gc said, it doesn't mean we will be drafting D-Mac.

I believe last year there was a similar situation because we had Brady Quinn at the top of our board, and although he was still available at 13, we didn't go with Quinn.

According to who? Some reporter who guessed? Its not as though the day after the draft there's going to be a press conference in which the Rams will say "okay... let's now reveal what our draft board looked like..."

First I've heard of that, but you may be confusing a couple of issues:

1. 2007 - The Raiders made public they were in negotiations with Brady Quinn and other players to be the #1. The pick turned out to be Russell.

2. 2006 - The Rams expressed an interest in Jay Cutler that they parlayed into a trade down with Denver.

the thing I don't understand about the smokescreen thing is if we as regular sports fans can see through these,but yet we are lead to believe that pro football front office personal do not,I think they are a big waste of time for the most part and also I heard the Rams have Big Red Man slotted 4th on there board behind McFadden,Long and C. We did talk up Cutler to the point some fans thought he might be the pick and so did the Broncos as they made a trade.
