Re: Rams like Tony Richardson
Because one, I wouldn't necessarily call him the best of all time, two, Richardson is familiar with the offense, three, we don't know what either one would want salary wise, and four, we're more likely to be able to get Richardson.
As for those who want to know why we should go after one of these fullbacks, the reason is simple, they work out to be a sixth lineman when we end up needing one due to injuries. We definitely could have used one of them or, hell, even super bowl winning FB Madison Hedgecock last year with all of our blocking issues. Ever think that with those 4th and short runs we had all season and didn't convert that a real fullback would have helped? We only had three of them in the Browns game alone.

Some more info per rotoworld:
In addition to the Jets, the Rams have shown interest in free agent FB Tony Richardson.
We're heading to wave two of free agency. Richardson spent time with new Rams offensive coordinator Al Saunders in Kansas City. He's 36 years old.

Re: Rams like Tony Richardson
The name escapes me, but the DE from Texas (I think) was appealing. There were some other decent values at DE in round 2 as well.

Re: Rams like Tony Richardson
If the Rams are looking at Tony Richardson, where does Leonard fit into our offense? I don't understand why we drafted him if we had no use for him. It's like the Rams wanted him real bad and then when they actually got him realized he's no use to us.

Re: Rams like Tony Richardson
When SJ went down BL was rookie of the week, with over 100 yards. Think he got nicked up late in the years and he touches where reduced. He will still get carries behind SJ, give him a blow from time to time. Al will find a way to use him I hope.I don't understand why we drafted him if we had no use for him.

Re: Rams like Tony Richardson
Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with Leonard as a player. It just seems that he's a tweener that the Rams have struggled to find a place for in their offense. But everybody knew he was a tweener coming out of college, so I don't understand why it seems to have caught the Rams by surprise.
I wish he would be featured more in our offense, but we keep picking up RBs and now possibly FBs and it seems like he's getting squeezed. I don't know, maybe it's just me.

:bash:If we can get him cheap then go for it...but also get OL, DL, LB, WR, and DB help...good players not cheap rejects or friends of Coach. Get NFL PLAYERS!
