I would hope that we pick up someone else of the offensive line in FA if we were to go this route, but I can't argue at all about a +19 value for Avril in the third.

I think that Gholston is a better prospect for a 3-4 OLB, and so I would agree that that may be the way they go if they decide not to go after Jake Long. But this boils down to the same questions and debates we've had here. Gholston's raw but has a lot of upside, whereas Long is polished and is a Parcells kind of guy. When it comes downto it, I'll end up being happy either way, but I'd rather not have to start liking the Phins just because they got Chris Long. But hey, I did it with the Jags and MJD, I can do it again.

If that's the Rams 1 and 2....everything after that is just gravy.

I could deal with Doucet in the second.....I think he's better than Limas Sweed if we are going in the direction of WR in the 2nd round.

Doucet had poor stats last year because he was hurt, But when he played he came up big all the time.....He really came through when it counted, definately CLUTCH!!!!!

I'd be perfectly happy with this draft if, as it has been mentioned, we get more OL help. It doesn't need to come from the draft. How about LJ Shelton, OT from the Phins?

If this is how it shakes out, take it and run! We'll need some OT help from somewhere, but that draft is about as good as can be hoped for.

Not to mention, 3 of those top 4 picks (Long, Avril, Wheeler.....but I don't think Wheeler gets out of the 3rd) all would be evidentiary of a move to the 3-4. Not saying all the pieces would be in place, but those three would certainly add to the a 3-4 LB corp. Picture this for '09 (rookies wouldn't be ready in '08, and Little wouldn't fit).......

    DE - Carriker
    NT - Ryan
    DE - Hall/Vic ?
    OLB - Long
    OLB - Avril
    ILB - Spoon
    ILB - Wheeler

That's a serviceable 3-4........even something to maybe get excited about.

If we changed to a 3-4, we'd have to move Spoon to the weakside OLB. He's simply not big enough to play inside a 3-4. Hell, he's not really big enough to play any linebacker spot in a 3-4, but that's just me. If we pick up a big MLB this year and another next year, then maybe they can play the inside. Little, Hall, Pisa are all expendable for the switch.

I completely disagree, teke. Spoon is 240. Willis is 242. David Harris is 241. Stephen Cooper is 235. D'Qwell Jackson is 240. Bradie James is 239.

Spoon is the same size as all (w/ exception of Ray Lewis) the top 3-4 ILBs in the league. If Spoon can't make the transition, it won't be because of size.
