Rams Picks REALLY Added to Youth of Team

One thing missed when talking the Rams draft was how young the players they took are. Barrett Jones is the eldest at 23 already, but the others are either just 23 when the season begains, or still 22. Alec Ogletree is the youngest, one of the youngest in this draft, at still age 21, not 22 till September.

This is a very good thing if a guy is good, because he'll be young when he is up for a new deal.

Isaac Bruce was one of the youngest ever to be drafted, and in the end, it meant for a longer career here.

Hopefully we'll see this for Austin, Bailey, McDonald, McGee, Stacy, Ogletree and Jones, not just a group with top talents, and good experience, and smarts, but one that is very young, even for an NFL draft crop.

Wasn't Amobi Okoye like 18 or 19 when drafted by the Texans? Crazy. But I digress.

Yea, this whole roster has taken a huge shift down Ye Olde Father Time Mountain. It is rather exciting. As the old guard like the Patriots and Steelers deal with the effects of an old roster, we are looking to burst from the nest.

So you're saying that the addition of rookies tends to make the team younger? #UnexpectedConsequences

To paraphrase the immortal Ben Franklin (not easy to work him into a comment about the Rams), "We're waiting for the chirp, chirp, chirp of the eagle being born."

We are on our way back to prominence.

One of the benefits of a younger team is that younger players tend to get hurt less with soft tissue type injuries. And injuries is what can cause havoc with a season.

    Go Rams!

Isn't just about every draft pick like 21 - 24yrs old? I'm pretty sure every team got a tad bit younger

Only if the draft pick makes the roster. And by that I mean that more players in the Ram's draft have a chance of making the roster than say a draftee on an established team like the Pats, 49er's, etc. We have more holes to fill and old, dead weight to replace...
