So McNabb is the same QB he was in 2001 and has not developed at all since then?

You know, I think some people just want to believe the worst regardless of the facts.

Much of the legwork had been done by that point. We have no evidence yet of Shurmur successfully shepherding a QB from rookiedom to stardom.

Shurmur has been with the Eagles since 1999. So he had been there throughout the entirity of McNabb's time with the Eagles

Whether he coached up McNabb or not, there is no evidence to suggest Shurmur cannot coach up a rookie QB, simply because he didnt have to

I love it how most people instantly agree with whatever AV just throws out here.
No matter how asinine it might be.

Taking 2 qb's? Not unless it's our 47th pick in the 7th round and ONLY then, the pick has to be a steal. Otherwise, we cannot afford to throw any pick away. This draft is too deep, and we need too much.

Your jealousy is simultaneously flattering and annoying.

So... taking, say... a CB who will likely never be more than a dime back or special teamer is okay, but taking a QB who could one day be No. 2 on the depth chart (which, in this league, is a pretty important spot), is "throwing the pick away."

    Interesting analysis.

Now, now I disagree w/ AV almost all of the time yet I agreed w/ him on this topic b/c it is a very good argument, after all we are trying to get better as a whole so if there is a potential sleeper at the QB position in the 7th round then why not pick him up. Not to mention Canfield is solid and Snead was thought to be a 1-round draft pick this year before having a very rough year this year so he may not be that much of a reach....I guess we'll see.

Ehhh, I have my faith in Keith Null, I'd use those picks for depths we need to fix the most.

I respect that. If you think Keith Null is the kind of QB who could be developed into a solid No. 2 in the next two years or so, then taking another QB late in this draft would not make much sense.

Me... I'm still not sold on Null. I think a guy like Levi Brown has far more potential.

As a side note... another consideration would be how many of these guys are still there in the 7th. If several are, then the Rams might just pass on them and sign one as a undrafted free agent.

Re: The Rams Should Consider Taking 2 QBs In The Draft

Some of you are looking at the 7th round pick like whatever. We took Null last year in the 6th so we dont necessarily need that 3rd string QB. We might need 1 next year so we can use a 7th next year.

We can get some depth in the 7th. ANd if you want that QB that will battle for the 3rd spot we can just take an undrafted rookie or even get Graham Harrell or Chase Daniels from last year's draft.

This team has plenty of need when it comes to depth and a 3rd string QB is not one of them

Hey AV it looks like Carolina stole your idea of two qbs by taking Clausen and then Pike.

There is a SPY amongst us!

Maybe they have a plan in the playbook which requires 2 QBs on the field during a snap.
