If Delmas signs with the Rams, I'll be cautiously happy.
I'd agree with that, on a good note, if Rams offered a contract, he must be physically ready to go, Might be a decent starter but adding depth wise, will be a good move.

The market is thinning out quickly. Ed Reed, Charles Woodson, Quintin Mikell, Kerry Rhodes, Adrian Wilson, Michael Huff.... All veterans, no-one great left. If I had to choose, it'd easily be Reed.

Absolutely not. Too old. Same goes for most of the guys you listed. I'd look at Bernard Pollard too as a SS. We can draft a FS.

I'm not a fan of Pollard. He is 1 dimensional He absolutely cannot cover what so ever. Purely an in the box safety with no ability to cover. I'd re-sign Craig Dahl to a cheap contract before I dish out 2+ million to Pollard. I'll take his ex-teammate, Ed Reed though.

I wish I could. We have some options, but they don't look so great.

I wouldn't worry too much. If we sign Long, we can afford to use two of our top four selections on safeties, if necessary. If we ended up with... let's say... Cyprien and P.Thomas... would you feel better?

I'd feel a lot better. The only issue is do we really want two rookies starting back there together? A lack of experience may kill us, though they are definitely both very talented players I'd love to have on my team.

Fisher in his presser is very high on Stewart. Whether thats just 'coach talk' remains to be seen. wouldnt mind 1 of the top 3 picks used on a Safety, the other 2 on a guard and WR would be nice as well.

If he was so high on Stewart why did he not play him last year over the atrocious Craig Dahl? I don't believe that one bit.

I don't think that would be a big problem. Some positions, such as QB and WR, typically require time because of the need to learn the playbook. Safety is a more instinctive/athletic position. Plenty of rookie safeties have big years.

“It wasn’t a tough decision as far as Stew is concerned,” Fisher said. ”Stew missed part of the offseason program and things fell into place and he didn’t get a chance to play very much but he’s a very talented player. So yeah, he steps up and he’s our guy. We are counting on him.”

like I said, might be 'coach talk'

also isnt Stewart a SS mold .. not a FS type? not to sure there. so he was benched in favour of Mikell if thats the case, which is justified, no?

If Al Harris once suited up for the Rams, is it safe to say Charles Woodson couldn't be completely out the picture for a vet. minimum? Yeah different GM's and what not, Snead does the deeds, yaddi yadda; just some food for thought, I wouldn't be against the move one bit.

Stewart is an all around kind of player. He is good in the box and he isn't bad in coverage. Last year we had Mikell and Dahl. Mikell is great in the box and not good in coverage, and Dahl really isn't good at anything, so there was no exception as to why Stewart wasn't playing.

I think its just crap, but what do I know? I wouldn't mind seeing Darian start back there. I certainly believed he should have been back there this year with Mikell.
