Rams tidbits from Great Blue North
On Ginn...
On Branch...No one is going to accuse St. Louis of not doing their homework on Ohio State WR Ted Ginn, another player the Rams are seriously considering selecting with the 13th pick at next week’s draft. After chartering a plane and sending a full contingent to Ginn’s private workout earlier this month, Ginn is in St. Louis today to meet again with Rams’ coaches as well as to be checked out by the team’s medical staff. Teams are allowed to bring 30 prospects out of town in for visits prior to the draft and the Rams reportedly had 29 players in alst seek, saving the final slot for Ginn. Ginn, thought to be one of, if not the fastest player in the 2007 draft class, has been limited since hurting a foot after returning the opening KO for a TD in this year’s BCS title game. Despite being only 75-80% Ginn still ran the 40 in around 4.40 seconds at his private workout but wasn’t able to complete all the drills because of tenderness in his foot.
After a couple of days in which the NFL rumor mill was in overdrive, things have quited down somewhat as teams around the league hunker down for the final week’s drive to the draft. There are a couple of stories we are trying to get some more information on however. There have been internet reports, for example, that Michigan DT Alan Branch could be slipping because of health concerns. So far, there doesn’t seem to be much of anything concrete to confirm the stories, but its something to keep an eye on. Remember too that this is the silly season in NFL when teams have been known to let slip a little misinformation about aplayer they would like to see drop to them. St. Louis coach Scott Linehan, though, may have taken that a tad further with Branch, a player the Rams will certainly look at with the 13th pick. Linehan took a bit of a shot at Branch saying that the former Michigan star is “the best looking guy for the position. But he doesn't always play the way he looks!”

Re: Rams tidbits from Great Blue North
well that to me shows we are high on Branch regarding his physical abilities, and the stuff about his work rate is not impossible to fix in the NFL. But also, this could be another case of Linehan sending out signals to give the Rams the best shot at the player they want.
I love Linehan as a HC more and more every time he speaks!

Re: Rams tidbits from Great Blue North
I would not be the least bit suprised if the Rams were targeting Branch and were causing him to fall to them with misinformation.
Linehan should run for office whe he is done as a coach the man manipulates the media like it is going out of style.
Branch at 13 is better than Ginn anywhere

In the Karraker article he mentions that Haslett wants more size than he inheritted on the defense.
Their is no one bigger on defense then Alan Branch all 6'6" 330lbs. of him.

I makes me laugh on how much love and hate relationships out there concerning Linehan. Reminds me of another great coach (Martz).

Re: Rams tidbits from Great Blue North
There is no doubt about it. If Linehan has shown anything, it's that he knows how to work the media and keep them guessing at every turn. It's amazing how many of his comments are showing up in major media draft articles, and not just the ones referring to the Rams. Hopefully, all this slight of hand translates into something that pans out in a big way.
