    Rams Updated Cap Number

Dunbar and Saffold will use up no more than $7 million in first year cap, which leaves the rams just over $13 million in available cap, without making any other moves to push numbers to 2015, which they can do pretty easily, and pretty much as far as amount.

If they none of that, they'll need $5 million or so for draft picks that count against the cap, the early round picks. Only the top 51 count, so late rounders won't

So without any moves, they have $8 million, and are looking at WR, guard, DT right now as targets to spend it.

Will they use any on a veteran backup QB? Who knows.

Just saw that Finnegan is signing a deal with the Dolphins, so by rule we get back a little of that dead money too, correct?

Not seeing a Vet QB sigining. Weedon, Campbell, Vick, Freemon? Not anyone I'm thinking is going to add any leadership or ability.

There is talk of Britt, if he comes cheap can see him.. Mack is still out there at C if we wanted to go that route.

Finnegan gets 2ys $11 million, so I'd say the Rams just added another $3 million. That's one good player.

I may be way off on this one but I'm watching the developments surrounding Chris Johnson. He has indicated he would agree to a salary reduction to facilitate a trade. I would be willing to trade 5-7 round pick, maybe a 4th but if he plays for $5-6 million a year for 3 years we could be spicing up our running game where we are a real threat on offense. Now I know this has implications to Zac Stacy, but if anyone can handle the delicacy of that situation its Jeff Fisher, especially since he's already coached CJ. I don't want to burn out Zac Stacy at young age and they are different type RB's. CJ can still make guys miss so for a few years he may be worth it.

    Go Rams!

I wouldn't mind bringing Fitzpatrick back to backup Bradford..i actually see him as an upgrade over Clemens..but only if the price is right

I'd love CJ on this team, but if he's going to take a pay cut I think he'd rather play for a contender

no thanks on CJ..even if he takes a pycut, it will still be too much, way too much...I think it will stunt stacy's growth too..i am very happy with stacy, we don't need to pay another rb 6-7 million a year which I bet CJ will easily want a year

I read it was half of that. 2 years, 5.5 million.

My bad, that number appears to be for Shelly Smith who the Dolphins also signed.

What if Finnegan is cut before the start of the season? Do we still get that cap room?

If there is a $3 million signing bonus or $3 million of his salary is guaranteed then we still get the cap room.
