RAMS will draft DORSEY if C. LONG is there.

I take everyone's mocks with a grain of salt , including my own ! but i had seen that MIKE MAYOCK seems to think that THE RAMS are targeting JAKE LONG . The truth is 4 out of the first 5 teams : MIAMI , ST. LOUIS , ATLANTA and K.C. all need a TACKLE and 2 of them MIAMI and K.C. don't even have a RT that the coach could name.

Know is the hard part , MIAMI will use the hot name to try hard for a trade because they want teams to think that they will indeed take JAKE LONG unless someone comes and gets him .

SO the concensus is that no-one will make the trade , MIAMI will indeed take JAKE LONG .

And that the ST. LOUIS RAMS with pick # 2 take GLENN DORSEY over DE - CHRIS LONG . And seem to think C. LONG slides to the JETS at #6 and GHOLSTON will fall to the PATRIOTS.

Please do not let this happen, and i hope this is just some smoke and a few opinions .

Sounds good, now can you tell us why you think this will happen.

Re: RAMS will draft DORSEY if C. LONG is there.

see my thread on my thoughts on this years draft candidates.

People, Rome wasn't built in a day but the first brick was laid. Let's not go crazy if the Rams do draft Dorsey. He's a beast, a monster in the middle. He'll be playing that position for years in the NFL. Carriker won't. Mark my words.

Re: RAMS will draft DORSEY if C. LONG is there.

I see what TX says, but I think we already have our DT problem set for now. There are two amazing DE's in this year's draft, and I for one see us getting one of the two.

Re: RAMS will draft DORSEY if C. LONG is there.

If you think that Mayock, Kiper or any other draft reporter KNOWS who the Rams (or any other team) will take, you are kidding yourself. They are, at best, making logical deductions from anecdotal information.

The Rams will almost certainly take one of four players: J.Long, C.Long, Dorsey and Gholston. Beyond that, we're all guessing.

TX I know you can remember when a new coach would come in and say. “We have a five-year plan”. I think those days are long gone, most teams give it about three years max. If a team shows not sign of improvement it’s next. When was the last time you heard, I have a five-year plan from a coach or GM? In the NFL today it’s more like trying to build a sand castle, where the environment is sure to change in a hurry.

Well, this is the Rosenbloom's. They like Linehan. If the Rams show progress this year, who knows?

Re: RAMS will draft DORSEY if C. LONG is there.

I would be happy with one of the four horseman , i would just like some more than others . I would prefer C.LONG ! even DORSEY if he's gone . and i wouldn't mind GHOLSTON , but i'm still not sure of the 2nd pick to do it. My last choice of the 4 would be JAKE LONG . if the RAMS said we drafted LONG , our new starting lineup will be

PACE -LT , BELL -LG , INCOGNITO -C , SETTERSTROM -RG , LONG -RT .

THEN I WOULD SAY FINE , but trade barron for some picks or a player and a pick or something for a good tackle that was a 1st round pick .

Agreed. Jake Long is my last choice out of the four.

Re: RAMS will draft DORSEY if C. LONG is there.

There is just something about Jake Long that in my opinion has flop written all over it. I have Clady rated higher than him and just dont think he is worth a top 5 pick. I know some of you love this guy but I just dont think he is the stud everyone makes him out to be. No matter who goes first I'll be happy if we get Chris Long, Gholston or Dorsey. As long as we dont get Jake I'm happy.

So what is it about J. Long that has you so nervous?

And if you got Clady ahead of him, roll the dice and start broadcasting that pick. Because if you are right on with Clady over Long, you can honestly say you were the only calling it.
