Ravens | McAlister might not be with team for 2006 season
Sat, 21 Jan 2006 09:05:15 -0800

Mike Preston, of the Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick recently warned team officials that CB Chris McAlister might not be with the team for the 2006 season. McAlister has five years left on his contract worth $36 million. He received a $10 million signing bonus in October of 2004 and another $7.5 million during the spring of 2005.

Mike Preston, of the Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens S Will Demps will not likely be re-signed by the team for the 2006 season.

Now I don't know about you guys but I would love to have either of these guys. Should we take a look at them if they are Free Agents?

i'd rather have demps, cause last year our saftys were kinda soft in pass coverage, and not so much our cb's concedering we wer playing our 3-6 stringers...

I'll pass on Demps. There's a reason the Ravens are not resigning him despite needing another safety to play next to Reed.

Possible cap casualty, but I don't think it'll come to that.

We probably can't afford either one. We have so much youth in our defensive backfield already. We have a great youth movement. Let's see who develops.

Re: Ravens CB McCalister and S Will Demps F/As?

Mcalister is a true stud at corner. Of course, i would love to have him, but i am not prepared to pay champ bailey type money or close to it to get him. For the same cash we can have pickett and at least one other good starter on defense.

ramming speed to all
