Re: Report: Giants could be willing to shop Osi
If the Rams do in fact make a play for Osi, it may be a draft-weekend trade. Maybe the third round starts to approach and the Rams aren't crazy about the defensive ends who are left, and the idea of tossing a third rounder to the Giants for Osi becomes more appealing. I don't think his contract is big enough to make the Rams balk away, and there's something to be said about a guy who has been productive under your head coach before (while he was a DC obviously).
It'd be pretty amusing if it happened, if only because Osi Umenyiora is one of the few other notable defensive ends in the league who wears #72, like Chris Long.

Re: Report: Giants could be willing to shop Osi
He's not that high priced. He's in the $3-4M per range. That's not much for those sack totals. Especially in the current cap free market. The bulk of his deal was already paid. He's got about $12M left halfway through a $41M contract. His contact is one of the reasons teams find him appealing.
