Rockin's Mock Draft @ Week 1
This should be fun. Most of this probably will probably change by the time we get to the draft, but it's fun to see how our team's needs changes throughout the year. After round 2-3 it's all just pure speculation.
Round 1: Arrelious Benn [WR] Illinois 6'2, 215lbs.
Analysis: Maybe if Bulger has legitimate talent to throw to, he won't look bad. Benn is a very talented receiver, and at 6'2, he gives our receiving corps much needed size. Bulger should be screaming in glee if we get this guy. Avery and Robinson and Burton need a legitimate talented receiver on the field with them, which will take pressure off them, and make them more open which will in turn give Bulger more options to throw to.
Round 2: Everson Griffen [DE] USC 6'3, 265lbs.
Analysis: We need pass rushers that can help our secondary out.
Round 3: Boo Robinson [DT] Wake Forest 6'2, 326lbs.
Analysis: We need help at our front four stopping the run. This guy is a monster of a nose tackle.
Round 4: John Jerry [G] Mississippi 6'5, 350lbs.
Analysis: We need to fortify our trenches on both sides of the ball. This guy brings HUGE size to our line, and he should be one of the contenders to replace Incognito.
Round 5: Brandon Carter [G] Texas Tech 6'7, 360lbs.
Analysis: 4 linemen picked between rounds 1-5? That's crazy! No it isn't. We need to really solidify our lines, and this guy also brings mammoth size to the guard position. He should also be a contender for the starting right guard position.
Round 6: Luther Brown [OLB] USC 6'2, 234lbs.
Round 7: David Gettis [WR] Baylor 6'4, 210lbs.

Very good although I doubt that Benn will be the top WR prospect by the end of the year, but this is a nice draft board.

Re: Rockin's Mock Draft @ Week 1
I think that it's going to boil down to either a QB or a DE in Round One. My preference is for Carlos Dunlap, as Little as getting old and I'm a firm believer in the old adage that defence wins championships, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised if we went for a new signal caller.

I wouldn't mind if we picked Bradford. But if we McCoy, I will be fuming...

Depends how Barron performs. We may be in the market for another tackle at some point in next years draft.

Re: Rockin's Mock Draft @ Week 1
id rather it go like this:
2010 1st round pick Carlos Dunlap DE (top 3), Gerald McCoy DT (7-10), Dez Bryant/ Benn WR (11-20)
2nd round pick: Tim Tebow
somthing u have notice about this guy is his drive to win the game, his leadership the way he leads the 10 other guys on the line. ANd most importantly his work ethic which is very very important in the NFL. We wont save too much money cutting bulger so we might have one more year of him with tebow in the wings.

Re: Rockin's Mock Draft @ Week 1
Carlos Dunlap I like, but I feel like its time for us to draft talented guy in a "talent" position (WR). We need some electricity, some life, and a playmaker should renew those spirits so to say.
McCoy I think is an UT, and we really need a big guy to stuff up the run. The reason I didn't mention Terrence Cody, the 6-5 350lb NT from Alabama, is that he may get too sluggish, and is most likely a 2 down player.
If Tebow is available at round 2, we should give him a long hard look.
But I'm really excited about those two guards. They give us mammoth size, and will build on our "let's get bigger on the o-line" motto.

Re: Rockin's Mock Draft @ Week 1
The first rounder should go to the D Line or quarterback depending on how the season goes. I also wouldn't mind getting Dez Bryant or Taylor Mays either because they are probably the 2 best athletes and most exciting players for the upcoming draft along with Jahvid Best.

Re: Rockin's Mock Draft @ Week 1
You got to think about it. Spags is our coach and he needs players who can get a pass-rush on the D-line.
And Benn will prolly not be picked i dont think we will pick a WR in the top 10. Remember the eagles they did not need a big time receiver to get it done. it helped with TO but they did not need it. Andy Ried never went for a WR that early.
Also at this point i like Dez Bryant over Benn cuz Bryant can run good routes and that always transitions well to the NFL

Re: Rockin's Mock Draft @ Week 1
Benn is actually very good at route running and very good at finding soft spots in the zone. I'm just worried about that guy staying healthy.I would think he will be the number one if he can stay healthy. and if he doesn't maybe we could come up late first round or he drops to the second, that would be a steal .
