Round 2 QB Poll

Assume that (1) the Rams take Suh in the first round, and (2) all of the players listed are available when the Rams make their second round pick.

Who would you take?

eh, with me its a tossup between colt, mallet (if he comes out), and waiting perhaps one more round depending on what we do in free agency this year. I think we snag a project then pick up a solid veteran like a chad Pennington who doesn't lose you games. groom the rookie while extracting whatever juice the vet has left.

I'd go for an OLB with pick 2 to solidify the front 7. FA a QB or get one 3rd round, Null will be in the mix somewhere next year. I just hope we have seen the last of bulger and his ho hum attitude.

gotta be mallet, best arm best measurables most upside. They all need seasoning, why not go with the one with the best tools.

It's got to be Mallett. I don't like Tony Pike's spaghetti arm, and Colt McCoy just doesn't offer enough on the table. Dan LeFevour I would take in round 3 and down.

Tim Tebow, probably round 3 and down, but it is almost a guarantee he won't last that long.

I chose taking a player at another position. Specifically I am looking at an athletic OLB like Sean Weatherspoon of Missouri or a massive RT like Bruce Campbell of Maryland.

Either player would in all likelihood start as a rookie and provide help in areas of huge need for the Rams.

I will also say that since I live in Arkansas the consensus around these here parts is that R. Mallett will stay for another year under Petrino. However, should that change I will admit that he would be hard to pass on in the 2nd round.

I agree with taking Suh in the first as he is the best player, but we are last in scoring. We need a WR that can put it in the end zone like Tate 15 TDs or Gilyard 11 TD.

My draft board is the same as it's always been:

Round 1. Suh
Round 2. BQBA
Round 3. Alexander, WR, 'Zou

All along I've assumed Mallett was not coming out (I still don't think is will nor should), but if he does, it'd be very hard to pass him up. IMO, this scenario narrows the BQBA down to Pike, McCoy, and Mallett. In terms of immediate contribution, Mallett is last on that list. However, in terms of tools, he's first. So, what would I do......

.....I'd take Mallett, knowing full well that he is going to hold a clipboard for a year. Give Bulger another year, resign Boller for a year, turn it over to Null, sign some vet to fill the gap........I don't care; but let Mallett have a full year of seasoning on the sideline, then give him the reins in 2011.

I know that we're in need of a QB to lead on the offensive side of the ball, but I don't think the draft is the answer. I know that Sanchez, Ryan, and Flacco have done well recently in their first years, but look at how Stafford is doing for the Lions, a team that was as bad as us a year ago. Sure, they've improved a little, but no much.

When we hired Spagnuolo, we pretty much said "To hell with the 'Greatest Show on Turf' we need to make the Rams a defensive powerhouse."

If Mallett decides to return to Arkansas, it would be interesting to see where his votes would go: to McCoy, Pike, or none of the above?

I voted for Mallett. If here were out of the picture, I'd probably go with Pike before McCoy right now, but its pretty close in my mind.

I doubt Bruce Campbell will make it the the second round. He's probably the second OT taken in the draft.
