Re: Rounds 1-7 & Late FA
I have to say that we need a little more offensive line depth than that. I thought that it was generally accepted that we needed to draft someone for the line, preferably a tackle or G/T prospect, by round 4 at the latest.
That said, I'd much rather go with defensive picks rather than a second WR in round 5.

Re: Rounds 1-7 & Late FA
Two of the 8 are O line and we just signed Bell.
That I can understand, I'm not at all happy with the depth at WR.That said, I'd much rather go with defensive picks rather than a second WR in round 5.

Re: Rounds 1-7 & Late FA
I like this a lot my only thought is that next years draft is so deep at SS, why not wait till next year and draft a solid SS. that would also allow us to take a WR in the third round

Re: Rounds 1-7 & Late FA
He is projected as a 3-4 round guy. I might be a tad early.whoa, he looks good, do you actually think he will be around for the third round?

Re: Rounds 1-7 & Late FA
but he's a boxer!
Yeah i know he looks good in highlights, hell if you through together all my highlights from football you would have people making a case for me to be the third pick (i was a TE). Still he looks to have good speed, and isn't going to be scared off a receiver

Re: Rounds 1-7 & Late FA
I saw him rip the ball out of peoples hands and pick off several passes thats more then I can say for Chavous. He returned several for TD's. I like the pick I hope he is there in the third. Zbikowski and Atogwe now thats two solid ball hawking safeties. He looks as though he has good hands and looks well put together I doubt we would see the injuries we seen with Archueleta.

Re: Rounds 1-7 & Late FA
IMO Setterstrom and Barron have good potential. This would give us a chance to see how well Pace comes back and how well Barron and Incognito will do mentally. It would insure we had a good OL. Next year we might be able to trade one of our OL for an area of need if they all pan out. This would help both our running game and passing game.
Offense:
QB Bulger
WR Holt
WR Bennett
RB Jackson
FB Leonard / Becht / Felton
TE Mc Michael
LT Pace / Barron
LG Bell
C Hartwig / Setterstrom
G Incognito
RT Long / Barron
Backup OL:
Setterstrom
Barron
Fry
DEFENSE:
DE Jackson / Adeyanju
DT Ryan
DT Carriker
DE Little
FS Atogwe
SS Zbikowski
LB Pisa
MLB Spoon
LB Draft / Culberson
CBs (little thin but I would like to address through FA):
Hill
Brown (unless drug problems)
Backup CBs:
Wade
Bartell
IMO this would be a pretty decent off-season. They could possibly challenge for our division with this roster IFFFFF they remain healthy.Last edited by RamsSB99; -03-14-2008 at 09:18 PM.

Re: Rounds 1-7 & Late FA
We're real thin at pass rush again, however the offensive line does look fairly robust. As much as I call for DE help in the first, if our line can dominate and help make our opponents one dimensional, I won't be upset. I just foresee a lot of issues on the defensive front yet again, stemming from a poor pass rush.

Re: Rounds 1-7 & Late FA
Truth be told, I doubt we'll fix our pass rush problems with one draft/offseason. I look at this year as the beginning of that enterprise, with us drafting a starter in the first two rounds and maybe a specialist later on (the mirror image of Adeyanju).
This draft kind of fits that and would go a really, really long way to fixing our offense. That might be one of the best offensive lines in football, assuming that J. Long is everything he is supposed to be. I'd be real happy with this, especially if we pick up some WR help elsewhere.
