Re: saints offer, according to pete prisco--jamaal brown

I think the reason for the Rams not looking at this trade is that they will want Will Smith. if we are going to miss out on the top two defensive end prospects we need to get one as part of the trade. We cant trade down and hope Harvey is there in case he gets picked before #10

Moving down to #10 and getting Smith would most likely then allow us to grab the second best OT prospect behind Jake Long, or Sedrick Ellis if he is still on the board.

That would be a better draft than getting Brown and whatever DE is there at 10 (if there is one)

JAMAAL BROWN CAN PLAY!

I'm surprised the Saints offered him, if true.

He was gone 6 picks before we took Barron. IMO, had he been there at #19, he'd be a Ram already.

If this deal is legitimate (which I highly doubt), do it now.

As I recall, New Orleans traded up to pick Brown ahead of us as most mocks had us taking brown with our pick. I remember being really angry because I felt Brown was a much better prospect than Barron, who had attitude questions at the time. The 3 seasons since then have proven my point Brown is a better OT than Barron. I'm not sure I would do this deal without some more thrown in by New Orleans.

Go Rams!:r

Re: Saints dangling Brown, hoping to move up for Dorsey

Wow. That is interesting.

If I was certain that Ellis would be there at 10 (I don't think he will be), I'd be tempted.

If it would result in Brown/D.Harvey, I'm at least intrigued.

Still... I'd probably hold out for one more pick. Maybe Brown, the 10th pick and a third rounder.
