Re: saints offer, according to pete prisco--jamaal brown

Yes that is tempting. I would rather get a Roman Harper or Will Smith but they would be fools to do that. We almost picked him over Barron a few years ago.

JAMMAL BROWN GETS BUSTED
A league source tells us that Saints tackle Jammal Brown has been arrested for domestic battery in New Orleans.
Per the source, Brown was arrested after an incident with his wife. Word is that Brown got in Mrs. Brown's face in the presence of one of her family members. After Brown left, the family member pushed Mrs. Brown to call the police.
When Brown returned, the police were in the house -- and then they took Brown to the big house.

NO THANKS

Charges were later dropped.

He's a Pro Bowl-caliber tackle, the guy many Rams fans really wanted in 2005. Will Smith would be preferable given our need at defensive end, but if Brown really is being dangled, that's a very intriguing offer IMO.

Re: saints offer, according to pete prisco--jamaal brown

I'd take it hes played well at RT before and hell be the future LT replace Pace. Great run and pass blocker. Alllows us to go Derrick Harvery, DRC, or a long shot Devin Thomas. Then WR top the second I'd take I wanted Jake Long this might be better.

Re: saints offer, according to pete prisco--jamaal brown

The Rams have "all but ruled out" a trade down, according to ESPN's John Clayton.

Apparently the Rams aren't serious about pursuing New Orleans' offer of Jammal Brown, assuming it's true. Clayton says St. Louis doesn't want to move all the way to No. 10. The Saints now are expected to turn their efforts to Sedrick Ellis, which could lead to a deal with Baltimore or New England.

Re: saints offer, according to pete prisco--jamaal brown

Well, dropping back eight spots is a lot, but we could fill a need at offensive tackle and then draft Harvey or Merlin to fill the need at defensive end. It is tempting.

Re: saints offer, according to pete prisco--jamaal brown

IMO, we'd be foolish not to take this, if it were a real offer. What you're getting is a Pro Bowl player, and a top 10 pick in the draft. There's no guarantee the player we get is going to be as good.

Concievably; we could trade back, and still land Long, Gholston, or Harvey.

Consider this.
MIA- Jake Long
NO- Glenn Dorsey
ATL- Matt Ryan
OAK- Gholston/Long
KC- TRADE? Our 1st and second? OR Brandon Albert
NYJ- Darren McFadden
NE- TRADE? For our first and third? OR Gholston/Long
BAL- Leodis McKelvin
CIN- Sedrick Ellis
STL- Derrick Harvey

We could, potentially, have our cake and eat it too.

If Oakland were to draft McFadden, this could change substantially. Again, if the Chiefs choose to take a DE at 5 (which, IMO, is unlikely, as they can find better value with Albert at 5 and a DE at 17 or a trade down than in reverse) We could be in jeopardy.

Re: saints offer, according to pete prisco--jamaal brown

I would push this deal but I think the Rams should get something else with it, like a late round pick or some sort of security. Not sure about that knee, maybe a contidional draft pick next year based on performance?

Yeah i think us getting some sort of insurance/conditional pick would be ideal. I really think 10 would put us in great position to get harvey which would prolly help us the most. Jake long even said he was the hardest guy he had to block.
