Re: Scott Wright gives his detailed assessment of the Rams' draft
can`t argue with anything that he said really,i feel the same...only time will tell who out of the bunch will be starters and im thinking we`ll have more than one(carriker) by the time the Panthers roll into town but not sure who its gonna be yet, just think theres a few on the edge of being starters without being dead certs!

Re: Scott Wright gives his detailed assessment of the Rams' draft
Honestly, I don't see any of these guys other than Carriker being a starter in the near future. Most of our second day guys will be lucky to even secure a roster spot. I kind of have to agree with Wright that I would have liked to see some more immediate help. On the upside, we've improved depth at almost every position this off-season.

Wade could at some point be a starter next to hill. I think it would be safe to say we would have the fastest CB tandem in the NFL.

Most likely, you're absolutely right. However, the same could have been said about Vic and Sett last year or Hedge the year before. While it's unusual to see late round rookies make immediate contributions (as you said), it's not out of the question, either.

Two of the Rams 7th round picks last year ended up on an NFL roster, and one of the two ending up starting.
Palmer made the Packer's roster. Setterstrom ended up starting.
It just might be that in spite of the odds, under this regime, the Rams have become good at drafting in rounds 5 through 7.

Re: Scott Wright gives his detailed assessment of the Rams' draft
you cant help but agree with him when he said Leonard was a luxury pick. I didn't think we could have gotten immediate starters behind Carriker except with a guard or a center which we wouldn't have taken on the first day and maybe linebacker because tinoisomoa's injury otherwise i didn't see a rookie starting beyond Carriker so we couldn't have taken immediate help.

Re: Scott Wright gives his detailed assessment of the Rams' draft
I agree with the article. Wade and Shackleford could have great upside. Wade sounds like a crapshoot though, he's extremely fast but has barely any experience. I think Fry could make for a good training camp battle in 08 or 09
