sdobbers 4 Round Mock Draft
Here's an attempt at a four round mock draft. Why not seven you ask? Well my knowledge of the athletes isn't sufficient at the moment, so I might as well not bother at the moment. That being said, here's my first four rounds.
Round 1, Pick 1 --- Jimmy Clausen (QB – Notre Dame)

The debate will continue to rage between QB vs. DT, however, in the end I think Spags will end up choosing his franchise QB.
Other options for this pick:
1. Sam Bradford (QB – Oklahoma)
2. Ndamukong Suh (DT – Nebraska)
3. Gerald MCCoy (DT – Oklahoma)
Round 2, Pick 33 --- Damian Williams (WR – USC)

Williams would give us a great route-runner, and could be a Reggie Wayne type player for us. Should be noted though, that I think next year will be a much much better year to get a #1 receiver than this year (better prospects)…
Other options for this pick:
1. Jermaine Gresham (TE – Oklahoma)
2. Brandon LaFell (WR – LSU)
3. Arrelious Been (WR – Illinois)
Round 3, Pick 65 --- Geno Atkins (DT – Georgia)

Had a great senior bowl, was beating up on Iupati.
Other options for this pick:
1. Lamarr Houston (DT – Texas)
2. Arthur Jones (DT – Syracuse)
3. Brandon Lang (DE – Troy)
Round 4, Pick 97 --- Austen Lane (DE – Murray State)

This pick gives us a solid pass rusher opposite of Long. If he had played a bigger school, I could see him going in the late 2nd to mid 3rd.
Other options for this pick:
1. Ciron Black (RT – LSU)
2. Anthony McCoy (TE – USC)
3. Demaryius Thomas (WR – Georgia Tech)

Is that picture the only one they have of Austen Lane? I dont wanna watch him do that every time he gets a sack

Re: sdobbers 4 Round Mock Draft
Very good draft. I prefer Bradford, but Clausen isn't too shabby. I really hope Damian Williams falls to us. I love his route running. Geno Atkins was a beast during the Senior Bowl. Austen Lane is a great pick.
If Williams does not fall to us, the 2011 draft has 3 amazing WR prospects.
A.J Green (Georgia)
Michael Floyd (Notre Dame)
Julio Jones (Alabama)

Re: sdobbers 4 Round Mock Draft
If the Rams are going to get a quarterback, I think getting him some more weapons makes sense. I personally don't think Williams will be there, but if he is, he'd be a nice addition. DL help in the third and fourth is solid. Not my preferred direction, but it's not a bad scenario by any stretch.

Re: sdobbers 4 Round Mock Draft
Yep, lets go with the quarterback who has leadership issues and lead the astounding notre dame team in two seasons to 7-6 and 6-6, SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE A PRO QB!

Re: sdobbers 4 Round Mock Draft
If we landed Williams or Gresham (esp Gresham) with the 33, I would be pleased.

Re: sdobbers 4 Round Mock Draft
i agree with nick
Williams wont be there. I think you should Brandon Lafell we need a possession receiver.
Also with a franchise QB we also need a TE gresham might not last till 33 so in the 3rd we should go get that TE from Arizona
first 3 picks to fix the offense!

Re: sdobbers 4 Round Mock Draft
I definitely seriously considered putting LaFell there but I ended up not, because I don't see him as a #1 WR. He's a great possession receiver...which we need, but I don't see him being a #1. I could be wrong though, and definitely wouldn't mind picking him up if he fell to us...
As for TE, in my latest 2 round complete mock I have us picking up a TE with our second pick in the 2nd. (from a trade with TB).

Re: sdobbers 4 Round Mock Draft
At this point i dont think we are look for #1 or #2 we are looking for weapons that our next QB can use to be successful.
He has a deep threat- Donnie Avery
He has a guy that gets seperation- Laurant Robinson
He has a guy that can go up and get the ball out of the air- B Gibby
He has a guy that can catch it in traffic- Danny Boy
He needs a possession 3rd down receiver.

Re: sdobbers 4 Round Mock Draft
i think the rams should get Arrellious Benn in the 2nd if he falls there ,,,thoughts? my rationale is that our new owner was a very big fan of illinois anf has close ties with the coach, Benn did get shafted with QB issues at illinois and an injury< this guy could b a beast for the rams, iunno just throwin it out there

As a possession guy, we should also keep our eyes on Jordan Shipley. I think the guys going to beast it up in the NFL.
