Re: Seahawks agreed to terms with Julius Jones.
Sean Alexander has been lackluster since returning from injury. Giving him less carries should allow him to be more effective in short bursts, which can only be a good thing for Seattle.
Also, this should mean they'll be looking in a direction other than RB in round 1. That's been their projected position for some time now.

Re: Seahawks agreed to terms with Julius Jones.
IMO this could turn out to be good for them. Julius Jones is young and IMO has not reached his potential yet. I think he could turn out to be a very good back.

ESPN: Seahwaks reach agreement with J. Jones
The Seahawks reached an agreement in principle Friday night with former Cowboys running back Julius Jones, the second running back move made by the team this week.
Jones agreed to a four-year deal worth around $3 million a year. The contract is similar to the five-year, $14 million contract reached with halfback T.J. Duckettearlier this week.
With Jones and Duckett on Seattle's roster entering the season, the question is whether or not Shaun Alexander will be around. The Seahawks decided to keep Alexander until they found replacements and now they have two potential replacements.
Jones is expected to compete for the starting job. Duckett was signed to be a short-yardage back as well as a backup fullback and power back. Jones is considered a more elusive back than Duckett.
Jones' final two choices were Seattle and Detroit , although he had interest from the Bears and Eagles for potential visits next week. He had also visited with the Titans.
So....no more Alexander for Seattle? Appears to be so, or headed in that direction anyways.

Thats good news. I'd rather face Duckett and Jones than a hurt Alexander anyday.

Re: Seahawks agreed to terms with Julius Jones.
A committee of Jones, Duckett, and Morris is capable and should be enough to push Alexander out the door.

Morris always hurts us. I wish he would head out the door.

Re: Seahawks agreed to terms with Julius Jones.
I agree. If they just had Duckett and Morris, I could see them being a 2-3 combo, as Duckett's never been able to take a lead role in any of the teams that he's played for. If you bring Jones into the mix then I have to imagine it means that they're going to cut Alexander only a couple years into his big contract, which I love. Jones has sucked, but could have a chip on his shoulder after getting canned by Dallas after he was the "starting" back. That amounted to all of break the line in so that Marion Barber can run over people later. Morris has been a good change of pace back against us, and can still be dangerous, but I have no respect for Duckett, even with our defense as it is now.
