only player id consider past 30 is Ray Lewis and i believe he`s 3 years younger than Dawkins and yet still deemed by many to be too old for a team rebuilding.

As of right now on NFL.com thats not offical yet. And yeah I'd jump at the cahnce to take Dawkins even for a year he could only help build intensity for Long, OJ and the rest of our young guys on the team plus whoever we draft. He's a leader and he is still a devistating hitter.

Dawkins is on the decline. He's still very good, but he won't get any better. Butler on the other hand is just entering his prime and already knows the system. He'll be able to help the other defenders learn Spag's playcalling and what he wants from each guy while also hopefully also becoming a quality starter. No, we absolutely should get Butler. Oh, and he'll be crazy cheap compared to Dawkins as well.

Dawkins is the best safety in last decade (shoulder to shoulder with Reed)! When you compare his seasonal stats, you could say that he is on decline, but I can't forget his game against Cowboys (last day of season)! Miraculous! Butler will never be in the same class with him. But, we need player for seasons to come, not just for a year. For Dawkins, it would be best for him to stay in Philadelphia. He is 'The Eagles'.

I thought for sure he signed with the broncos. Anyways its a pipe dream. If we cant afford Butler, we cant afford Dawkins.
