SI's Peter King says Rams don't want Gholston
from his recent article found here:
Peter King: Monday Morning Quarterback - Peter King - SI.com
Rams related quotes:
Quote:
|
St. Louis doesn't want Vernon Gholston; so if Long does go to Miami, Gholston could slide.
|
Quote:
|
The Rams have Jake Long, Chris Long and Dorsey atop their board, so they'd be thrilled to see Gholston go No. 1
|
Main thing to point out about this is that he doesnt say where he gets this information from. Why dont the Rams want Gholston? How comes he reports that the two Longs and Dorsey are atop the Rams draft board when it was previously reported McFadden was their top rated guy?
Oh yes, thats right. Its because he has made it all up.

I think I love the perspective of Chris Long. Asked him the other day when he was on Sirius whether it would bother him if he sank like a stone in the first round of the draft and got a contract with, say, $10 million less in guarantees than he'd have gotten in one of the very top slots. "Twelve million, $25 million ... I can't spend that kind of money, whatever it is, in three lifetimes, never mind one," he said. "I just want to play football.''
|
i always knew Chris Long was that type of guy. Hopefully if we do grab him #2 overall, and if Miami have already signed Jake Long, then it wont take long for Chris to sign

Peter King is well respected. He just doesn't make stuff up.

Re: SI's Peter King says Rams don't want Gholston
Gholston is a great pass rusher, not an overall great football player IMO. If we where a little deeper, he would be a guy I would like to add, but we are still building so I can see the Rams passing. But you never know...

That's part of what makes C. Long so appealing. You gotta love it.

Re: SI's Peter King says Rams don't want Gholston
He has to be the target P L E A S E !!!!! I could live with DORSEY as the pick .
( With CARRIKER - RYAN - DORSEY - VICTOR, A. , as our young linemen , i could see the RAMS taking a rusher in another round. These 4 are run stoppers , and V.A. ( though not the super pass rusher , is SOLID and won't hurt the team. Which might mean a top rusher next year .
Icould have lived with JAKE LONG as our pick also . Though it would have been my 2nd choice after C.LONG , he still would have given us a 10year starter on a line that "although young " needs a TACKLE that can be depended on . I think with PACE back and at full strength that LONG would be at RT and BARRON would be 3rd TACKLE , moved to a guard spot , or what i think would happen ( trade em for picks ) .
With a starting O-LINE of .... PACE - BELL - SETTERSTROM - INCOGNITO- LONG
we couldn't really go wrong , now that we have some signed depth and a deep draft in O-LINEMEN and 9 picks. i hope for at least 1-T and 1-C , but i would like an extra T/G for the hell of it .

Re: SI's Peter King says Rams don't want Gholston
I can buy it. Devaney had a no comment when he was asked about Gholston's athleticism on the Radio. I wouldn't say gholston is off the board, but I just think he is number 4 on the list and pretty much out of the picture.

What you gotta think is that with the Draft, there is no real source, unless Peter had a cup o' coffee with Scott and they discussed their draft board.

I'm thinking of pulling a TX and start hating the draft.
Too much stuff going on, its driving me CRAZY!
Just give us Chris Long and I'm happy

My gut feeling is we are signing one of the Longs, Jack or Chris. It all depends on who Miami selects.

Now what would be funny about that is, we draft him and he misses the entire pre-season because the cheap Rams try to make him live by his words, with a super low-ball offer.

Not to mention the prospective irony of how (sorry everybody) LONG it could take to sign him.
