So who do we take?
The more I hear, the more it looks like the following players will be taken in the top ten of the NFL Draft (in no particular order):
- Matt Leinart
- Vince Young
- Jay Cutler
- Reggie Bush
- Vernon Davis
- D'Brickashaw Ferguson
- Mario Williams
- Haloti Ngata
- AJ Hawk
- Michael Huff
Assume for the time being that the Rams do not trade down, simply because it's harder than it sounds.
Who do we take?
Best defensive players on the board include Chad Greenway, Jimmy Williams, Tamba Hali, Mathias Kiwanuka, Tye Hill, Antonio Cromartie, and Ko Simpson.

Out of the players you have said though, i think Williams, but only as a safety

They spent a second round pick on Arrington last year, and while he didn't blow anyone away, their offensive line was horrible and didn't help him at all.

Re: So who do we take?
In that situation I would take Cromartie presuming his knee holds up when he works out and he shows the talent and ability he showed 2 years ago,if he had not had the injury we would be talking about a top 5 player.

Re: So who do we take?
I agree with the Nick, reality is starting to set in, No Huff or Davis on the board at 11.
I would go with Chad Greenway, I think are DB’s will improve as they are young, Butler will be back, Fisher had a very bad year. I don’t see us sitting in a cover two or quads in third down. If we run the 3-4 as much I hear we are, in third down situation. Are DB's should be fine. Hopefully we can get to the QB, force some bad throws and get off the field on third down for a change.

Re: So who do we take?
If these are my choices, I go with Greenway. Especially if Claiborne & Coakley aren't here, we'll need to replenish the LB corp, and Greenway is the best shot at doing it.

Re: So who do we take?
Ya know reading the top ten projections for this draft just brings back the horrible memory of that worthless win against Dallas at the end of the year. I know I should have gotten over it by now, but I can't stop thinking that we are going to really regret having the 11th pick instead of the 8th. Now I'm hearing that NEITHER M. Huff nor V. Davis will be available? Well there goes my stomach again: time for the Rolaids.
WHAT SAY YE?
P.S. And don't tell me that "no win is worthless", I don't want to hear it anymore.

Well, I still think it could happen, but it's just not looking all that likely either way. For instance, I could see...

I don't think it's impossible, and I think both of the above scenarios are realistic. I think Winston Justice is a guy who doesn't get a lot of press as a top ten pick, but is definitely the second best OT in this draft, and could go to a number of teams in the top ten who have needs at OT. Buffalo has needs on both sides of the line, Detriot and Arizona do as well to some extent.
But I want to get a feel of where we should look if guys like Huff and Davis are both gone. I have no doubt Davis is not an option at this point because of those freakish workouts, but I think there's still a decent chance Huff is available, depending on if Young slips and who takes Davis.

Wouldnt it be nice if this was to happen and instead of taking Hawk the lions take Huff and then Hawk falls into our lap, that would be a dream

Re: So who do we take?
I’m hearing Vince Young did get a higher score then 6 on his IQ test. But if he starts to slip out of the top ten that will make it even harder to get a shot at Davis or Huff, just my two cents worth.

Re: So who do we take?
can jimmy williams play FS in the NFL? if yes then go ahead and draft him if not, I guess i'll have to go with Greenway as well.

Re: So who do we take?
I'm still saying Greenway at this point, but his meager 16 reps on the Bench makes me wonder about his upper body strength. We don't need another LB that gets swallowed by O-linemen, so hopefully he plays stronger than he lifts.
