Isn't Odell Beckham in the first round talk at the moment? Are you suggesting he would be a steal if we got him in the second round?

I tried to stay away from first rounders for this exact reason. I feel like if he goes in round 1 it'll be in the late 20's early 30's or he'll slip into round 2. Either way, I think he will be an unbelievable player at the next level and we'll be saying "he should have been taken higher".

So yes, he'd be a big time steal in round 2.

Very nice list and I think all of those guys will be those draft picks that turn out to be excellent starters. They're the guys who end up starting as a 4th or later round pick, though some are seconds on that list, and people wonder how they lasted so long before getting drafted.

Unless you know when they are drafted, how do you know they are steals?

At this point it's looking at the "experts" round projections and comparing that to your projected value of them.

Re: Some of my draft "Steals"

The concept of draft "steal" has 2 meanings to me. Either they are relatively unknown or they have dropped in the eyes of draft prognosticators making them available in a later round when they were thought to go higher.

First if a player drops it's usually for a reason either on-field his tape shows some flaws not initially seen, an injury or some off-field issues have come to light. If a player is an unknown that could be for reasons that he played at a small school, was over-shadowed by other players who play the position or scouts were wrong about his upside.

This list has players who fit into those categories and we just don't know the true value of the player but there is 1 player whom I agree could be of good value to us if indeed we lose Saffold in FA and that is Trai Turner, OG LSU and that was purely what I saw at the Combine. Having just gone through the Billy Devaney era of trying to find "steals", I prefer to stick with the known quantities as Jeff and Les have done over the past 2 years. Good list nonetheless.

    Go Rams!

I like the idea of Seantel Henderson in a late round. IIRC he was the #1 h.s. prospect several years ago. Phillip Gaines is also an intriguing guy in my mind. Keith Price, QB from Washington, has my approval, too.
