Spags: Clayton's knee is not ready yet
It's been over nine months since the injury. I'm not sure what the average rehab time is on a surgically repaired torn patella tendon, though.

I don't like the sound of this, but obviously the Rams have to keep moving forward. It'll be interesting to see if Clayton remains a part of the Rams plan.

Re: Spags: Clayton's knee is not ready yet
What I'd really like would be some kind of contract that would be a vet minimum to get him in house and under our docs' care, but wouldn't give him any more money until he actually produces. Maybe some rediculously easy to get incentives? Like 1 million for 10 catches? Another million for 30 catches?
I believe!

Re: Spags: Clayton's knee is not ready yet
He'll probably end up in the PUP list during the regular season but I like to see that we're keeping in touch with him. We need his intermediate, sideline threat to make yardage (though I honestly hope he starts in week 1, we're going to need all the help we can get against that juggernaut Eagles team).

Re: Spags: Clayton's knee is not ready yet
It's a shame about Clayton. I do not think he will be ready until next year. No wonder they signed MSW.?
Clayton was are only decent WR last year before injury.? Not to worry.
I think B.Gibson will take his place for this season, he will surprise. WAtch this space.?

Mark Clayton
I thought the reports were that the deal with Clayton was already done we just were waiting for the lockout to end. So whats the hold up?
Do you guys think we will even keep him considering we have all these wide outs on roster.
84 Danario Alexander
16 Danny Amendola
17 Donnie Avery
14 Jalil Carter
15 Dominique Curry
11 Brandon Gibson
81 Mardy Gilyard
82 Greg Mathews
83 Austin Pettis
87 Greg Salas
10 Mike Sims-Walker
18 Joe West
Gibson needs to give up 11 because 10 brings back to many bad bad memories.
Anyways Issac Bruce was said to be working with our wide outs and he was working with Joe west a lot. I don't really like that because he is most likely not going to make the team.

I used to not like the chopper city juke but if I see 15 times this year I think I would love it.

Re: Mark Clayton
im sure it is a foctor, but the extra days off are what they might be hoping help him out. im being very pesimistic, i liked clayton a lot last year and hope he can return healthy enough for the rams to hold onto him.

Re: Mark Clayton
Yes I with you on that Bradford and Clayton had a good chemistry. But with the FA signing of Walker I was wondering was that a sign if they were moving on?

Re: Mark Clayton
I think it might be eldfan because I would rather have Alexander and maybe even Avery over Clayton. Plus from what I hear about Pettis he has not dropped a ball yet so that sounds pretty good after every dropped ball we seen last year.
I can't wait to see this team down to 53 it will be working towards elite status.

Re: Mark Clayton
At this point I'm intrigued as to whether or not the Rams resign him. I think a lot of people believe he will be resigned soon, but I'm not so sure it's necessary. I'm a little torn because I think he can be a solid player, but I also think that fans might be overvaluing him a little. He did very good 1 game, pretty good for 2 games, and shut down for 1 before getting hurt. That's a pretty small sample size. He's not overly large (5-10) and he's 29.
I think if the Rams do sign him, he'll be a solid contributor. I don't know if his numbers will be that good since Bradford will have other targets (he caught 10 passes in the season opener). My one concern is that he'll keep a roster spot that could go to someone with more potential to be an impact player for longer. I trust this coaching staff so I'll assume that whatever decision they make will be a smart one...The longer he goes unsigned, and the longer these young WR's are impressing the more Devaney and Co. might rethink signing him.

Re: Mark Clayton
Spags did an interrview a few days ago and he said claytons knee hasnt healed. Thats why we havent signed him. That bein said he prob ably wont be back unless we bring him back during the season becuase of another wr getting injured

Re: Spags: Clayton's knee is not ready yet
Hmm, hopefully August will allow him to make a run for it (pun), and Clayton / doctors / trainers will manage to get that wheel strong, rolling correctly.
Wishful thinking perhaps, but it'd sure be nice to have a healthy MC!
