SS plan B
If we don't get James Butler, who can we get?
I'm thinking Jermaine Phillips. Sean Jones is also out there, but he may be pricey

Phillips,Jones,Jarrod Page, and maybe Dawan Landry. The last two are young though and may not be ready to be solid starters.

Re: SS plan B
I'm surprised Jermaine Phillips' name hasn't come up more in league news since the start of free agency. I think he's a pretty good veteran but age and durability might be a concern. I liked Sean Jones when he was coming out of college, so he could be a nice pick-up.

Re: SS plan B
Between two of them, I would try to get Phillips. He is turning 30, this March, yes, but he probably has 3-4 'full-power' seasons ahead. He is passionate player (those who cares we really need) who started every game he played, during the last five seasons, for on of the better NFL defenses (DO NOT mention Jamie Duncan; not ever!). Last season, after he went down (maybe injury would be a problem), Bucs defense collapsed, especially their run-stopping (good tackler). Jones is three years younger (I don't think it's crucial), but probably more expensive. I chose Phillips. Did you, maybe think about Jim Leonhard?

Re: SS plan B
Sorry didnt notice they were restricted. Leonhard is a possiblility then if those two are rfa's. Milloy is out there but I'm afraid we would have another Chavous situation, great leader but diminished skills. What about Bigby I know he's restricted but at what tender I wonder. He might be worth a 4th or 5th rounder? C.C. Brown from the Texans could be another young guy that could get better with age and could be had on the cheap. There really is a lot of free agent safeties out there and they are young. So if we can't get Butler we might need to take a look at some of these young guys who have been starting for other teams and sign one.Just Fix It

Re: SS plan B
I heard Jim Leonhard might go with Rex Ryan to the Jets but if he doesn't end up there I would love to have him as a Ram. Then again, Butler was supposed to come to the Rams with Spagnuolo so we'll just have to wait and see.

Re: SS plan B
We need to draft Patrick Chung in the secound round. The guy is a big hitter and can bring an identity to this defense.
