Stafford and Detroit

Just curious if anyone thinks Stafford would pull an Eli Manning with the Lions? Sure I know every rookie wants to start but I don't see that team turning the ship anytime soon.

I don't think it's likely, because Stafford has already made positive comments about possibly being a Lion. Here are some of them...

“I think in the end that’s a heck of an honor, and that’s something I’d definitely love to be able to associate that with my name and maybe turn that franchise around,” he said.

“I’d love to be a part of something like that. I’m a competitive guy and love a challenge, and that would definitely be a fun situation for me.”

Stafford, who turns 21 on Wednesday, said he’s ready to pack up and move “to a city that I have most likely never been to in my entire life and it probably has a lot colder winters than Athens, Ga.”

Patrick pointed out: “Yeah, but you get to play in a dome in Detroit.”

“That’s true, that’s true, and hopefully that’s where it ends up,” Stafford said. “From what I see, the people they’re bringing in and I think that franchise is about ready to turn around.”
