Steve Slaton
So I have really been harping on finding a quality backup for SJ lately and watching the Texans game I had a thought, why not try and trade for Steve Slaton? He is getting no carries on the team, and when Tate gets off IR next year he will be the odd man out as far as RB's there. He is 5'9 210 lbs and 24 years old. He had a fumbling problem last year but still had ok numbers, and his rookie year he was money. So if we could trade a 4th or a 3rd round pick for him would you guys want him?

Re: Steve Slaton
Heck yeah! Slaton is lightning fast and would be an awesome change of pace back, i would trade a 4th for him in a heartbeat. but nothing any higher.

Re: Steve Slaton
Wow, finally somebody posted this. I contemplated doing it, but never got around to it. I remember him and Forte got drafted the same year and both played lights out. Then the year after (last year) they both had their own issues. And here we are, Arian Foster, Derrick Ward, and Ben Tate when he gets off IR all in front of him.
Anyway my point is hell yes! This guy is a play maker. They will give him up for cheap because he basically is useless for them. He would be the perfect back up to SJ as long as he fixes that fumbling problem. TRADE FOR HIM!

Re: Steve Slaton
although he hasn`t done an entirely bad job, as they look like not making the play offs yet again i`m expecting them to part with Kubiak at the end of the season, so Slaton could find himself back in favour.
still...i`d offer our 5th and possibly one of our 7th`s and see what happens. i`d say that`s fair enough value for someone who although could be very useful if used correctly, nobody is gonna use him as their main guy anymore.

Re: Steve Slaton
I'm not really sure what happened (other than Foster) to keep him on the bench. It's strange that he just fell off like that.

Re: Steve Slaton
Well it's probably obvious how I'd feel about this move.

Re: Steve Slaton
The knock on Slaton is he has had trouble holding on to the ball.
That's one of the reasons Steven Jackson is relied on so much. This year, he has 261 touches and NO FUMBLES, despite playing several games with a broken finger. Pretty remarkable.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Steve Slaton
I agree 10000000%.For a 4th round pick i would def trade for him.He has burners and would be an amazing compliment to SJ.I think we need a backup so when SJ is resting we arent left scratching our heads who the hell is running the ball.SPEED BACK all the way

Re: Steve Slaton
Is he an answer for "post-Jackson" running back? Adrian Peterson overcame a HUGE fumbleitis attack this year (don't believe he's had any), so hook 'em up and get Slayton.
How is he as a receiver?

Re: Steve Slaton
I'd give Slaton a shot. I wouldn't spend much on him in terms of a trade, but I think he'd be an immediate upgrade over the backups we have.

Re: Steve Slaton
very good idea. I'd love to have Slaton be our change of pace back and then take over for Jackson after that.

Re: Steve Slaton
4th is too high for the guy. Lost his job because he fumbles way too much. The guy is a playmaker and would be a starter if he could hold on to the ball.
He will probably be cut next year and the Rams can pick him up or give up a later round pick to get him.
Also, T. Choice would be a great option along with Ringer.
