Stevie Johnson SHOULD be the #1 WR on the Rams off-season board!
Here are a few reasons WHY SJ13 should be the #1 WR on the Rams off-season free agent board:
1- Age. 26 in July. In terms of talent-age ratio, I think Stevie has the edge in that category. Over any available WR.
2- Talent. He has posted back-to-back 1000 yard seasons without a top tier QB, and without another good WR lined up across from him.
3- The contract. Johnson is seeking a contract under 9 million dollars. Compare this to Vincent Jackson, and Marques Colston. Who will easily be commanding in the 8-10 mil per year range.
My estimated contract for Stevie Johnson: 4 years; 29 million dollars. 7.25m/season.
Excuse me while I gush for a moment, because while writing this I wonder under the impression that Stevie Johnson was only 5-11 but just saw his attributes and that he is 6-2! That makes me like him even more. This guy beat the CB that can't be beat Darrelle Revis multiple times. Apparently also, the Bills and him are far apart in contract talks and he is due to hit the open market. He is the first phone call I make if I am Fisher. Also, Schottenheimer has been on the sidelines against Johnson multiple times, so maybe he throws in a good word. He will be our #1 WR for a long, long time.
One more comment:
Why so serious?

I will cosign this for all the above reasons and also because him blaming God for his dropping that pass a couple of years ago was one of the most hilarious things I have ever heard.

I love me some stevie johnson! i'd love to have a Blackmon/ Johnson tandem with Danny in the slot and Pettis/salas rounding out our wr spots!!! plus he can return punts and possibly kicks. He is a game breaker but think the contract would have to be more rear heavy as we have not really much to offer this season for FA under the cap unless we start renegotiating some of these deals!
p.s. I think Sam would love this!

Not sure, not sold on him, not sure why though. But if we got him without over paying it wouldnt be bad. Still wish Wallace was hitting FA.

Ok, I prefer this guy over Colston, Bowe or Jackson. But let me be clear. The Bills will retain him no matter what. Some sources I have read say that they will franchise tag him if they cant extend his contract = 99.999995% chance.
I hope not though, because by far he is my favorite WR FA this year. I trust him when he says he has matured and is now ready to play for championships and not attention!

Well that is awesome news, if so I am completly down. This way we can even maybe draft Claiborne and worry about spending cap money somewhere else than Finnegan.
Stevie Johnson is my #1 choice no matter what. I didn't care he dropped that ball against PIT a couple years ago. He was quiet last year but still had his best year. He is maturing into a receiver that lets his play do the talking, and I would love to have him on the Rams

He's on the list, but not at the top, for me.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

If he can put the diva stuff behind him then fine, otherwise we risk a TO or Randy Moss type of player in our locker room and I prefer to avoid that. I agree with AV, not at the top of my list either.
Go Rams!

I'd like any of the FA WR's (VJ, Bowe, Stevie Johnson, Colston). Doesn't really matter to me. I think a proven vet WR will help Sam tremendously and opens up more options in the draft. Then we can stay put and take Kalil and another WR in Rd 2 or 3 and we're looking like a new offense.

Ofcourse we want a better WR FA than Johnson, but this isnt madden.
We dont have alot of cap room, and quite a few positional holes, I would love Johnson.
Now if we can restructure some contracts and make some cuts, along with signing some depth outside of WR, sure I'd love to go for Colston, Bowe, D or V Jackson. I dont really see that working out so well though.

If his contract demands are public knowledge, then he has the world's worst agent.3- The contract. Johnson is seeking a contract under 9 million dollars. Compare this to Vincent Jackson, and Marques Colston. Who will easily be commanding in the 8-10 mil per year range."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Obviously all speculative Hub as everything this time of year is.
But here are his 'speculated' demands per rotoworld
The Buffalo News speculates that free agent Stevie Johnson is targeting $8 million a year on a long-term contract.
The Seahawks signed Sidney Rice for a hair over $8 million annually last year, but beat writer Mark Gaughan suggests the Bills "obviously ... have not been willing to get there so far." Coach Chan Gailey said Friday that he does not expect today's meeting with agent C.J. LaBoy to produce a "breakthrough" in talks.
