Still a Great Chance Julio is there at 14

Ya he had a great combine, but if you look at the teams picking ahead of us 3 really need a WR Panthers, Browns, and Redskins. A combine isn't going to put him ahead of Aj Green let alone number 1 overall. The Browns are switching to a 4-3 without that type of personnel they aren't taking Julio in this class when top notch DEs, DTs, Or Aj Green could be available. Skins are a wild card they could go with any of the top defenders who are rated higher or if one of the QBs fall they will definitely pounce. Maybe Minnesota is wild card if they loose Sidney Rice, but that could be to the Rams and moving 3 spots in the mid 1st round wouldn't cost much. Its hard for me to believe a good combine boost a player into the top 5 or ahead of the consensus guy based on game tape. Skins and Vikes are the most likely destinations IMO, but both teams could have better options in their draft slot.

The reason why there's a chance is that there are several teams ahead of the Rams who need a QB and likely will have no opportunity to acquire a veteran before the draft due to the CBA.

Yes another reason, but certainly not the only reason

Don't write off the Browns too fast. While they are making the defensive switch you described, they have a OC as their new HC and Mike Holmgren, whom we will assume will have a huge determination of the pick passed on linemen who were rated higher to select Koren Robinson while with the Seahawks. Don't forget Colt McCoy needs wrs just as Bradford does and Cleveland literally has nothing on offense other than Peyton Hillis and Josh Cribs on KO's. Bottom line, they could select AJ Green removing 1 WR from the pickings.

I do hope you are right that we have the shot at Julio Jones, because he would be incredible for us. AV's contention that the teams selecting WR's might go for a QB instead may indeed be the saving grace, but that works only if there's no CBA, ergo Free Agency market before the draft. Remains to be seen.

    Go Rams!

IMO, you could make a case for the Panthers, Bills, Bengals, Browns, Titans, Redskins, Texans, Vikings, or Lions. It might not be their biggest need, but if they think Jones' value is much better than other players at other positions of need, they could pull the trigger.

The thing to remember about the draft is not everyone draft's purely for one of their biggest needs. Jones, to many, probably entered this process as a Top 15 player in this class, and putting on a phenomenal athletic performance could push him up draft boards a couple spots into the Top 10. I agree it probably won't be enough to pass Green, but it could make him a better value than some other players that teams like the Texans or Redskins may consider.

In the end, no one knows if Jones is going to be there until the draft actually takes place. But I certainly think the chances of him being around at pick 14 are a little bit worse now than they were at this time last week.
