Takeo Spikes

I was surfing msn.com and looking at this list of some of the most intriguing free agents at every spot. When I got to linebacker I saw a surprising name. Takeo Spikes is a free agent this year. I don't know about you guys, but I am from New England so I would see him twice a year when the Patriots played the Bills. He was a very intense hard hitting presence. He is older (31) but last season he racked up 96 tackles. Not too bad. I say that if we can get him to sign a cheap 2-3 year contract then we should go for it.

I also think Spikes is appealing if we can get him cheap. I would only offer 1 or 2 max. year contract. Nice Band-aid fix, we would still have to draft a guy this draft or next .

Hmmm not really interested in tying up too much money in veterans past their prime, but if he doesn't break the bank I'd want Billy to look into it.
