Re: Talent in the NFL Draft
I wouldn't mind the Rams taking Alphonso Smith CB Wake Forest in Round 2
Re: Talent in the NFL Draft
In the mock draft I just saw, he's being taken 23rd overall to N.E. Moreover as to what I was getting at with this post, has been my constant view that the Rams should go WR 1st round, OL 2nd round & LB 3rd. Since there is still a lot of holes with the team, the data does verify this viewpoint.

from that info, crabtree anyone? :P
Re: Talent in the NFL Draft
The percentages in this statistical sample don't necessarily mean much. Too small a sample overall to eliminate anomalies.
The OL stat lumps all 5 positions together.Crunch the numbers for starting OTs and I'd bet the chances of hitting the starter jackpot would grow significantly.
the LB sample also lumps all three positions together. None of it takes into account injuries to draft picks in any given year.None of the categories take into account the position where a player is taken within that round. Highly relevant to the Curry debate especially.
The size of the sample and variables would, imo, create a margin for error that virtually eliminates the differences upon which you could solely base a decision as to which position to target.
All I get from that table is that about 40-50% of starters at any significant position are picked in the first 3 rounds. Is that really a surprise or all that definitively helpful?
Re: Talent in the NFL Draft
I think this helps prove we should go OT/WR/LB/DT/LB/
Re: Talent in the NFL Draft
It's funny to me that these "experts' pick one game to raise a red flag instead of the whole body of a collegiate career.
Man, is the media the worst thing on Earth anymore? Look at basketball when it comes to seeding it's all about the body of work but for football if a player has maybe an off game in a bowl game he's suddenly a workout warrior? Huh? When you have a whole month off, you aren't going to be sharp. Ask OU how good Orakpo is.
