Tampa Rams Awesome 11/15th season pre-combine/pro day mock draft 1.0!!!!!!

Ok, let me start off by saying that a lot, and i mean a lot can change in my thinking and draft needs from now and to right before the actual draft. A lot will probably change from month to month till the draft. But as of this moment, this is what id like to see happen. So having said that, strap yourself in and lets begin this amazing roller coaster of a mock!!!!!

    Key resignings:
Danny Amendolla- Sams safety net and the Rudy of the team. Needs a nice long contract which he gets.
Bradley Fletcher- Good #3/#4 cb, no reason to let him walk if we can keep him for a decent price.
SJAX!!!!- Jackson decides he wants to stay a ram as long as he can and signs a moderate priced 2 year deal. Thunder and Lightning gonna continue for a few more years!
Brandon Gibson- Decent filler if someone goes down.

    Free agents:
Greg Jennings- Our new #1 wr who can also provide some veteran leadership to our younger wr's. Him and Givens can tear it up while Quick develops further.
Dashon Goldson(taking a page out of Av's mock)- Our new #1 Safety. Needed a major upgrade in this department so we revamp it big time. Also takes a big piece away from the *****(as Av pointed out) which is always good.

    Notable Releases:
Quintin Mikell- Used to be good, but has gone down hill, and with the Goldson signing he becomes expendable.
Craig Dahl- Do i even need to provide an explanation?
Steve Smith- MSW all over again. Maybe he'll have better luck somewhere else.

*Not sure we'll have enough for all the re-signings and the FA's, but i told Demoff to make room so he did.

Now lets get to the draft!!!

Trade!!!! Yes thats right, haven't even gotten to pick yet and we trade.
Cincinnati trades their 1st rounder(21st overall) and their 2nd rounder(53rd overall) to move up to our 13th pick in the first round. They are in big need of a DE and move up to grab Damontre Moore because they are very very high on him.

Now for you draft value guys:

    1.13=1,150

    1.21=800
    2.53=370
    total=1170

Good enough for Snead and fine with Cinci. So its a deal.
Now we get to our picks
    1.18
    C.J. Mosley, OLB, Alabama
    6'2, 235 lbs
    Season Stats: 92 Tackles, 6.0 TFL, 4.0 Sacks, 2 INT, 1 FF

Mosley doesn't have incredible size but does have the skill set to succeed in the NFL. He's very productive, versatile and may be the best pure linebacker in the class.
NFL scouts will love Mosley's pass defense. He is a phenomenal defender in the passing game in man coverage, zone coverage and blitzing. Mosley could use more size for the ground game, but he is a special player. The junior has been Alabama's best defender in the front seven this season and in the discussion with DeMarcus Milliner as the best player on the defense.

    1.21
    Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M

    6'5, 305 lbs

When watching Matthews, it is clear that he has great instincts and intelligence. The junior is a natural football player. Matthews has a lot of success with cut blocks, and is quick to use one when he sees an opening to take a linemen out of the play by diving at the legs. The first things that jump out about Matthews are his quickness and athleticism. Unlike many right tackles, Matthews has light feet and a nice burst out of his stance. This allows him to fire into run blocks on his lineman or to the second level of the defense. Son of hall of famer Bruce Matthews. Will anchor down RT tackle position for many years.

    2.45
    Bacarri Rambo, FS, Georgia
    6'0, 218 lbs
Season stats: 3 int, 59 Total tackles, 12 TFL, 1 sacks, 1 fumble return

Rambo has first-round talent, but has been his own worst enemy. Was suspended the first 4 games of the season for violationg team rules regarding drug usage. Rambo had an excellent season last year and was one of the nation's leaders in interceptions with seven. The junior also had 52 tackles with seven passes broken up. Rambo is a physical player with good instincts. He has the speed to fly around the field and get in position to make plays.Has first round talent, and since the top tier safetis are gone Rambo is our pick. And plus, who wouldnt love to have a player whos name was Rambo?
(this video is awesome for reasons you will find out)

    2.53
    Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford
    6'6, 252 lbs.
    Season Stats: 63 rec, 818 yards, 6 td's

Ertz has played well this season and is Stanford's leading receiver. A smooth and fluid athlete, Ertz gets in and out of his cuts easier/sharper than current Indianapolis Colt Coby Fleener did and has the speed to make plays after the catch. A sure-handed receiver, Ertz's consistently catches the ball cleanly and gets it tucked away quickly so that he can get started up the field fast after the catch. As he displayed in Stanford's win over Oregon, he has the hands, body control and concentration to catch off-target passes with surprising ease. While he lacks the bulk/strength to physically dominate as a blocker, he consistently competes hard and is able to shield off defenders. Him and Kendricks will become a two headed monster.

    3.77
    Tank Carradine, DE, FSU
    6'5, 265 lbs
Season Stats: 80 Total tackles, 11 sacks, 13 Tackles for loss, 1 FF

Cornellius “Tank” Carradine, was viewed as a likely 1st/2nd round pick in the draft, suffered a torn ACL last week against FL. Hopefully this drops him into our laps in the 3rd round(crosses fingers). And since this is my mock, it's happening. I know we have Long and Quinn, but doesn't hurt to beef it up more.
Physically, Carradine is as impressive as any defensive end in the country. He's blessed with a chiseled frame, extremely strong lower body, and good coordination. But as a pass-rusher, he's still pretty raw. He always plays with his hand in the ground, and gets out of his stance quickly and powerfully, but gets caught a little too upright at times.
When he gets good leverage and keeps his legs under him, Carradine is impossible to stop. He also uses a good swim move off the outside and has the strength to push linemen off their feet if he gets a hand on their chest.

    4.109
    Dri Archer, RB/KR/PR, Kent State
    5'8, 164-175 lbs
    Season Stats: Rushing- 138 att, 1337 yard, 9.7 Avg., 14 td's
    Receiving- 30 rec, 458 yards, 15.3 Avg., 4 td's
    Kick Returns- 16 returns, 573 yards, 35.81 Avg., 3 td's

Kent State running back Dri Archer has been one of the nation's top all-purpose players this season and is a key piece in the Golden Flashes' run to the MAC East title. He is fast and elctrifying. And i would like him to become our new PR/KR specialist. No more Danny Boy returing punts, no more gasps as Pettis gets rocked for not waving a fair catch, no more muffed balls. His main job is to catch and return. Can be used in a few special packages. Might stay in school, but once again this is my mock so hes entering the draft.
So how fast is he in the 40-yard dash?
"My average is 4.27, but my best is a 4.21," Archer said.I know it's no officail but still. The man is lightning in a bottle.

    5.141
    A.J. Francis, DT, Maryland
    6'3, 305 lbs
Season Stats: 42 Total tackles, 8.5 TFL, 3.5 sacks, 1 FF, 5 passes broken up, 3 blocked kicks/punts.

DT to rotate in to give breathers for Brockers and Langford. Couldn't find a whole lot on him, but another DT never hurts.

    6.173
    Quinton Patton, WR, Louisiana Tech
    6'2, 195 lbs
    Season stats: 104 rec, 1392 yards, 13 td's

The energy that Patton brings to the field in undeniable. Even with his solid measurables, his best football quality may in fact be something as simple the attitude with which he approaches the game. The man simply never seems to take a play off. Even on hand-offs that are headed to the opposite side of the field, you always seem to be able to find him somewhere in the mix. Patton fits the mold of the bigger receivers pro personnel gurus covet. He isn’t a monster by any stretch, but possesses deceptive strength and uses his hands effectively to separate from press coverage. Without blazing speed at his disposal, he’s able to utilize fast feet and smooth acceleration to compensate. I actually like Patton a lot and wouldn't mind an earlier draft pick on him. Pattons stock has been on the rise the last month and would take a sub-par combine for him to fell to the 6th, but hey, anything can happen.

    2.205
Ray Ray Armstrong, S, Faulkner University
    6'4, 220 lbs
    Season Stats: None

On July 18, 2012, Armstrong was dismissed from the Hurricanes football team for being dishonest during the UM booster scandle. On August 14, 2012, it was announced that Armstrong had transferred to Faulkner University and would play for the Faulkner Eagles, an NA1A team. However, Armstrong was declared ineligible on September 11, 2012 due to the circumstances of his dismissal from the Miami Hurricanes. NAIA rules prohibit any athlete "who has been permanently banned in a given sport at any four-year institution." Armstrong was a Second-Team All-ACC selection in 2010 and recorded 79 tackles with three interceptions. He showed up well against the Hurricanes' better opponents, with nine total tackles against both Ohio State and Florida State.
Armstrong is a big, aggressive athlete with the speed and range to cover both sidelines, flashing first round ability.

*I had a total of 19 videos(2 for each, 3 for Mosley), but wouldn't let me post them all. Thanks goes out to Dez for getting 5 to work on a thread.

Thats my mock draft+offseason. Comment if you want. Let me know what you think. I know draft stocks will change greatly from now till the draft. This mock me took me a while to put together, partly because there is a lot to it and partly because im lazy at putting all the pieces together.

    GO RAMS!!!!!!

Carradine just recently tore his ACL, but other than that its pretty good. I like taking a chance on Ray Ray Armstrong late in the draft, he had some serious talent. I'd have some other options but its ok.

If he didn't have the torn ACL he'd never make it passed the 2nd round.

    There's a lot I like here, and some things I don't.

    Things I like:

Jake Matthews as our new RT
    Ertz in Round 2
Taking a true kick return specialist
Ray Ray Armstrong in Round 7 (if he's still there)

    Things I don't like:

Greg Jennings - too old and recent injury history.
C.J. Mosley at pick 18. I'd rather have a guy like Chase Thomas a bit later in the draft.
Carradine in Round 3. I don't mind the idea of a rotation DE, but there are bigger needs for a Top 100 selection.

I understand on Jennings, but i prefer him over Wallace who is basically a more experienced Givens at this point. And not sure what we'd get out of Bowe.
I like Mosley, and although Chase Thomas is good, i still prefer Mosley.
Only reason Carradine is picked is cause hes has borderline 1st round talent so could be a nice steal.

    Thanks for the input Av.

Its actually really really good although i would like for us to add one of the 2 blue-chip guard prospects cant argue with what we are getting with Mathews

You also took our biggest defensive weakness (Safety) and turned it into very strong unit...Bacarri Rambo seems like he was born to be a RAM

I think everyone wants us to improve the WR position with a big ticket free agent but Jennings has been injured all year he is also old and everything and even Bowe as you said you dont know what you will get.

At the End it truly is a great mock we got talent and i feel like we would have tremendous depth on this team with that mock

Thanks man I appreciate the feedback and the sincerity.

The wr position is a tough one. Im not sold on the FA's and not sold on the wr draft class. Yes Jennings has been hurt this year but he could rebound, and 29 isn't to bad for a wr. At the end of the day i guess i rather take the chance with a questionable veteran over a questionable 1st round draftee. Its still early and feelings could change, but i like Jennings at this point.

I was also waiting for someone to mention the Guard position. I would love to have Warmack, but i think Turner(as of right now) can be our LG, still has 5 more games to prove me wrong though. So i rather grab more needed positions if possible.

Thanks again man for your words

No problem bro u deserve the praise

One of my biggest concern is LG; Turner's ceiling is probably an average LG look at what he faces in the division I especially fear the Aldon and Justin Smith combo on that side and think we NEED top tier LG to counter the DL play on that side within our division

well as i said a lot can/will change from now until draft time. I guess Turners big test will come Sunday and we will see if your fears come to fruition or if my hope works out. I do agree with you, thats why these last 5 games are Turners tryout for the starting job at LG next season(for me at least). If Turner plays above average against the ***** this Sunday, will that change your mind at all?

Dont forget about Rok at Guard. And Turner has been a pleasant suprise, we can go forward with him and Rok and draft for depth at the least... Instead of a day1 starter
