Is there anyone who would not be happy if the Rams drafted...
...one of the three top candidates listed above?
Obviously we all have our personal preferences, but is there anyone out there who would actually be upset if the Rams selected someone other than your guy?
For instance, even as someone who really thinks the Rams should go OT in round one, I love Curry as a prospect and would be very pleased to add him to this defense. My reasoning for preferring Monroe or Smith has little if anything to do with Curry as a prospect but is rather about my feelings regarding the OT position and our ability to address it later in the draft.
I only bring this up because it seems in the midst of all of this debating and arguing, I think what is lost is that the Rams have a number of options with their pick, all of whom are very good players and should bring a lot to this team. And as tx always says, this is a team with so many holes that they could really add just about anyone and improve themselves.
So would you say you're in the same boat I am? You have a preference for one player but would be happy with any of the three? Or would you actually be unhappy or even upset if the Rams didn't draft your guy?
Re: Is there anyone who would not be happy if the Rams drafted...
Good question and one I've often wondered myself. Although I think an OT would be a bigger benefit to the team than a LB, I would be very happy with any one of the three.
Re: Is there anyone who would not be happy if the Rams drafted...
I'd be alright with Smith and Monroe. I'd be extremely happy with Curry.
Re: Is there anyone who would not be happy if the Rams drafted...
I'm with RamsFan16 on this one. I'd be satisfied if the Rams drafted Smith or Monroe since OT is a pressing need. However, I would be more excited if the Rams selected Aaron Curry.

I'd be happy with any of them.
Re: Is there anyone who would not be happy if the Rams drafted...
well if we draft Lady Legs,i`ll have to disband my one man boo-crew so im getting my boos in while i can...
lady legs cant handle the bull rush...boooo if we pick him..go to Seattle Lady legs!!
im all for looking at legs that would look good in heels...but not drafting them to play OT for my beloved Rams in the NFL..thank you ever so much.
if you dont know who lady legs is by now..check the OT`s in this years draft..oh and i will give you another clue..he`s played his college football in a 2 point stance..
Re: Is there anyone who would not be happy if the Rams drafted...
Any on that list would be fine we have so many needs I wish he could have all of them.
Re: Is there anyone who would not be happy if the Rams drafted...
I would be happy with any of our top 4 guys and I'm including Sanchez in that bunch.

.
I don't think Monroe is a top two pick.
Curry is going to make someone real happy.

Re: Is there anyone who would not be happy if the Rams drafted...
very unhappy with any O-lineman in the 1st round.
Re: Is there anyone who would not be happy if the Rams drafted...
I want Curry but I would be fine with any of those picks. Although I did not vote that way on the poll. When I read your last option I had to vote for it because I liked it so much.
One final note:
Crabtree which was not an option I would not be happy with.

Amongst all the pre-draft opinion that I've read concerning our Rams, this is probably one of the more original ones out there.
I only have one question that I'd love you to answer.
Why?

And vice versa for me, partner. I personally believe Curry's going to wind up a level above either Smith or Monroe on the NFL stage. However, I stipulate the bigger need is OT, and to that end I'd be happy with any of the triumvirate.........Monroe, Smith, Curry.

What the heck, tx?!?! Nick gives you your own category, and you don't even select it?

I'm a grump and I'm never happy anyways, so it doesn't matter.

Re: Is there anyone who would not be happy if the Rams drafted...
I've been of the opinion that we need to take a top tackle because Pace is gone and Barron is in a contract year, but the closer we get to the draft, and the more I look at the options, I'm starting to think more defensively.
Fact, the best production that we've gotten from Barron was on the left side, where he played in college. He's now got the opportunity to play there.
Fact, it would be somewhat foolish to pay #2 money for a right tackle. Then again, it's foolish to pay ANYONE #2 money these days.
Fact, there are two 2nd-3rd tier RT's that have the potential to be there when we draft at #35, Eben Britton(less likely), and Phil Loadholt(who SI.com just said could make it into the 1st round, but I wouldn't hold my breath).
So, I've started falling in love with the prospect of grabbing Curry at #2, where he can play the middle, or outside, or whatever, and just be a playmaker for Spags. Then at #35, or maybe even a very slight trade up depending on what we see in the draft(run on tackles, Detroit not going OT in the first 2 picks), we aim for Loadholt, who can lock down the strong side much better than Barron can, and would be reasonable on the money to do so. Barron can then play LT.
P.S. Will Barron be a restricted FA next year under the current CBA? That would be perfect if he was.
