There are three ways we can go in the draft which one would you take?
Thats easy for me. Trade with the Browns, let them have RG3, have the Vikings take Kalil, and we pick up Blackmon and an extra 1st round pick at 22.
If the Browns offered that deal, I don't see how the Rams could say no.
There's a very good chance that the Vikings would pass on Blackmon, meaning the Rams would obtain the #22 essentially for free. Otherwise, a Kalil + Floyd/Jeffrey/Wright (plus a DT, RB or OLB at #33) would be a pretty great result too.
If the Browns offered that, we'd be morons not to take it. In other words, we'd be picking 4th and most likely still have our man with Blackmon.
We need to trade with the browns... We forsure will get Kalil or blackmon at that spot and idc if its this years first or next... I wouldn't mind there 2nd this year...
So far you guys feel the draft will break the way you want it too. We get Balckmon and the 22nd pick.
What happens if the Vikes take him, would you second guess that move or does the extra pick and Kalil equate to a better draft for the Rams then Blackmon at two?
I'm not convinced that we absolutely need to have Blackmon no matter what. I think Wright, Jeffery or Floyd could all end up being the best guy in the first round before all is said and done, so I want to leave open the idea of trading way down and still grabbing maybe our choice of the three and getting much more for our pick.
I'm with TekeRam on this... I think this could be a once in a decade opportunity for the Rams to stockpile some draft picks and build this team through the draft over the next few years. Kalil or Blackmon both would be awesome but we still have no depth and many holes.
Definitely do a deal with the Browns if they throw it on the table
I'm for stockpiling picks this year and next. I can see us trade back with the browns but stopping there. What I wouldn't mind is trading with Redskins and once more from 6 with the Bengels so they can grab Trent Richardson. That would give us a slew of picks this year and next year.
I'm all for a solid basis for the next years taking one player at a time at the top will take a longtime. We might be in a premier position to do stockpiling this year.
Instead of a turnaround with that one player and see him develop over the years. We would invest in our future in a different way. That might also be a once in a decade opportunity.
I'm definitely all for trading back multiple times, as we need a lot of players, and a lot of cheap players this year as well due to the cap situation. I'm hoping that we get a fair amount back through renegotiated contracts.
As for this being a once in a decade opportunity, we can only hope that that is the case! If it isn't, then it means that we've continued to suck!
The more i look at this draft class the more i like David Decastro. In my opinion he's the one sure thing in this year.
So only one person would take Blackmon at 2 without any other compensation. I thought he was a great playmaker and worth a number two?
He no doubt is. This poll is predicated on the fact that the Browns make that offer. If they do not I am more than happy taking Blackmon at 2, however we would be nuts not to pounce on an offer like that, given the fact we'd still have an opportunity to land Blackmon @ 4.
Well if you think about it either choice one or two, were guaranteed Blackmon(or ATLEAST Kalil according to the poll ofcourse).
So in that case, either way we get a great player plus a 22nd overall. A 22nd we can use on any one of our holes. (WR, OT, DT, OLB). Then comes the 33rd pick.
