Throw out all the mock drafts

They're not good anymore. Will we now see some trading at the top of the draft? Perhaps one of the running backs after Bush will move up. Or, maybe it completely re-shapes the types of defensive players that get taken.

Discuss.

The problem I see is at least one of the big 3 QBs will slip behind us, therefore forcing possibly a top defender up and out of our reach.

The flip side, of course, is maybe we can find a trade partner needing a QB.

A number of teams at the top seem to be leaving the door open for a trade. I expect the Titans and Raiders to draft QB, but that does leave one more top prospect up for grabs. Barring any trades, the Jets and Lions would still seem likely to take the other QB before he reached us. If New Orleans stays put, I could see them drafting Hawk. If the Jets were to draft a QB, that could make D'Brickashaw fall possibly as far down as #8 for the Bills. And so the ripple effect would continue. The Cardinals' pick is more of an unknown now; they could pick Justice, but if Davis or Huff makes it that far, I think they're even more likely to snatch one of them up.

I'd need to work on it a little more, but I could see the top ten being something like this:

1. Houston - Reggie Bush
2. New Orleans - A.J. Hawk
3. Tennessee - Matt Leinart
4. NY Jets - Jay Cutler
5. Green Bay - Mario Williams
6. SF - Vernon Davis
7. Oakland - Vince Young
8. Buffalo - D'Brickashaw Ferguson
9. Detroit - Micheal Huff
10. Arizona - Winston Justice

That would leave Ngata on the board. Alternatively, the Bills take Ngata, the Lions take Ferguson, and the Cardinals take Huff. It would depend largely on whether the Bills are able to sign Bernard or Pickett by then. If we don't have Pickett, do we take Ngata then? Another DT in the first round? Like I said, I'm still working on scenarios.

I'm still going to be surprised if Young goes top 10.
