In this scenario the top defensive lineman still available is Jamaal Anderson the DE from Arkansas. He Had great production this past season as a junior at 13 ½ sacks, was all over the field making plays. But you look back in his overall production a little bit inconsistent and he needs some work in terms of his technique. He’s a big defensive end, 280 lbs. with good speed for his size and I think because of it he belongs in the top 15. I think the Rams, because of their needs there would love to have Anderson with the 13th pick.

DE Jamaal Anderson? I don't think we can complain about getting him! Once again:
DE Anderson [4 on a 1-5 scale of likelihood to find @ pick 13, 5 being most likely]
DT Branch [2]
DE/DT Carriker [4]
DT Okoye [3]
LB Willis [1]
To me, any one of these players makes for a great pick at 13.

Anderson seems like a logical choice but it will be hard to tell where he will land. Anderson > Branch is both are still on the board

It doesnt matter. By the time this defense comes up to speed, the offense will be too old to take care of business.

I'd be happy with Anderson or Carriker.
Even if branch were there @ 13, I don't think I'd want him, he reminds me too much of Jimmy Kennedy.
Okoye and Willis very likely won't be there. :x

Not necessarily. Sometimes a defense will make a major turn-around from one year to the next with only a few changes. Everthing comes together for them when a few pieces of the puzzle are added. It seems to me that happened with us back in the London Fletcher days.
I think our LB's and secondary are fairly decent and will improve if the D-line is upgraded. It could just be a couple of players that allow the chemistry to happen and suddenly the defense is a strong point. These transformations tend to happen quickly rather than slowly I think.
Of course maybe not, but I like to be optimistic about my team. :imho:
