    The trade we almost made.

Apparently we had a trade in place with Baltimore to pick Martin the OLineman from ND. Dallas messed that up. Our Oline would have been amazing.

That must have been derailed when Jeff Fisher cut the phone cord, shouting, "I never take first round OL!"

    ...oh wait. :

Ok, one in 18 years, seems hardly something to gloat about, but I knew it was coming. Just glad he chose the bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic and more dominant one.

It was really a no brainer when you need help on the OL and every scout out there is telling you Robinson is as sure a hall of famer at OT to come along as there has been in a long time.

No, this was after Aaron Donald was selected. The Rams tried to trade back up into the 1st round accumulating 3 first rounders at the end of the day.

Sosa is right. It would have been another first rounder. Martin one on one is the only one who slowed down Donald even a little at the senior bowl. Martin would have been a huge help at LG.

I wasn't trying to gloat (already played that card here ), but simply illustrate how, if the Rams had had their way, they would have selected TWO first round offensive linemen.

This would have been blasphemy for all the people claiming the Rams wouldn't go OT in the first because Fisher doesn't draft first round offensive linemen.

But that's why people shouldn't base their projections and thoughts about who a team might go with based on perceived trends on how a coach has picked in the past.

That being said do we think that the Rams go and get a LG they like in the 2nd or 3rd?

Wouldn't surprise me if they did. I don't know that they'll trade up to do it, but if the value's right, they've showed their hand a little in that they'll still consider it.

You can never have enough good offensive linemen. The question is are they going to chase after safeties. I think we need a quality CB or S in this draft. A tweener who can ball hawk and still cover the slot guy would be ideal.

I'm curious as to where Fisher want's to put G-Rob. I don't really agree with putting him at RT.. To tell you the honest truth I'd rather just have Jake Long on the bench or RT and immediately plug in G-Rob at LT. He's the future, don't mess around with him. If this was the plan, I'd be ALL for adding another OG like Xavier Su'a-Filo, Gabe Jackson, or Trai Turner in round 2/3. I want pure dominance up front!
