    Trading down

I know it takes a willing parting so my question is has anything in the FA made a partner more likely? For instance would Cleveland be a little more willing now that the Chiefs have got Cassel and would almost certainly take Curry if we don't?

    Re: Trading down

I just dont see a possible trade happen breaking it down with the draft trade chart value:

    Rams 2nd pick: 2,600 points

    Browns 5th pick: 1,700
    Browns 36th pick: 540 points
    Browns 50th pick: 400 points
    Browns 100th pick: 100points
    Browns 164th pick: 25.8 points

First off it will probably take them 3-4 of those picks and that would basically be the whole Browns draft.

However they may do a Kellen Winslow to Braylan Edwards and trade him to. If they do i would not complain with a:

    Rams get:
    Browns 1st rounder (5th pick)
    Braylon Edwards

    Browns get:
    Rams 1st rounder (2nd pick)

    But its highly unlikely

I would think that is also highly unlikely to move down 3 spots and get Edwards in the deal. That would be an absolute steal for us. I'd love to see it offered though!

    Re: Trading down

I would love the rams trading down!
The only problem is the trade value chart is obsolete, because of Rookie contracts being so high.

Rams get 5th pick and Browns 2nd rd 36th pick or there 2nd rd 50th pick from T-bay for winslow

    Browns get 2nd pick

The Rams could still get the OT or get B. J. raji

I agree, I think the rookie draft chart is obsolete. With those contracts getting so expensive, the burden of picking a guy at #1 or #2 is prohibitive in itself let alone paying so much to move up just a few slots.

Same thing from me... if we can get a 2nd round pick from anyone in the top 10 for our spot, I say we just all over it. One, we'll save cap dollars. Two, we'll get another very good player in the 2nd round. And three, that gives a little more flexibility in my mind, to be able to go after a number of needs, be it a Mike, or a Sam, or an OT or maybe even a WR.

We may think that chart is obsolete but I don't think there is a GM or coach that thinks it's obsolete.

    Re: Trading down

I don't think the Rams should move down past the 5th pick unless it's for multiple picks.

    Rams RD 1 , 2nd pick for

New Englands RD 1 23 pick
    RD 2 34th & 58th pick
    RD 3 89th pick
New England would still have the 47th pick in rd 2

the Rams would have alot of picks 23rd
    34th
    35th
    58th
    66th
89th that would 6 picks in 1st 3 rds. I think the Rams could sure find enough people to draft. Might be able to fill all the holes on Rams Roster.

The Patriots dont pay rookies that much however they might want Curry. But highly doubt it.

    Re: Trading down

Tonyray... so that we can build a good young team as opposed to overpaying for one elite player. That's why.

That said, I highly doubt that anyone will want to trade up and so I'll be happy to have one of these elite players, so long as Devaney does his homework to make sure he's not a bust.

Teke, I do respect your opinion, I'm just tired of having a defense that is pushed around and gets no respect. Billy D. IMO will fill the right spot.
